5.0 out of 5 stars Trance-sending music!
I was sorry to read Mical's assessment of a very fine album for meditation, relaxation and Reiki sessions. 2.0 out of 5 stars Marketing Gimmick?
The flow of the music is very good, but it's not extordinarily different from other music in this genre. What I deeply dislike is the use of sacred Reiki symbols as a marketing gimmick. I expect that future CD's will use other Reiki symbols in the same way. It's for this reason that I will not use it during my sessions. Sorry.

I was sorry to read Mical's assessment of a very fine album for meditation, relaxation and Reiki sessions. He obviously approached it from a mercantile point of view, but then, everyone's entitled to their opinion. I give this recording 5 stars for the depth of its beauty and the way it flows steadily for nearly an hour, which for me is an optimal length of time for a good, deep meditation. The lush blending of synths and choir-like vocals is enough to (hopefully) take even the most cynical among us into a higher state of consciousness and a deeper state of physical/mental/spiritual relaxation. Took me a long time to find this recording and am glad it is now in my collection. I would also recommend the Anuvida/Nik Tyndall collaborations as well as the recordings of James Johnson, Liquid Mind, and my idol, Jonn Serrie. Thank God, with the state that our planet is in today, that we have music like this to calm us down and relax us after a day of stress, road rage, and Republicans. I hope to be fortunate enough to record music like this myself someday.

4.0 out of 5 stars Soothing, entrancing healing music, July 19, 2003

Weave has produced an excellent disc of healing music, incorporating soothing, repetitive chord patterns and an angelic choral effect. The depth and flow of the music are very relaxing, excellent for helping a person relax the mind and open up to healing energy flow. The music, however, is so entrancing that it might not be suitable for listening in many situations where you can't allow yourself to be hypnotized or lulled into a deep state of relaxation. I see the use of the Reiki symbol on the album as appropriate, as the significance of the symbols has been distorted since the life of Usui. Symbols are not secret or the true source of Reiki power or energy, they are more accurately described as tools to help one attune to or resonate with energy - there are now many "new" Reiki styles with new symbols and opportunities for teaching and making more money. Since Reiki is universal life force, no training or symbols are necessary for everyone to access that energy, and those concerned with "protecting" the symbols are on a misguided quest. Weave has produced a soothing composition and shared it, along with a Reiki symbol and symbol meaning, with the world. I appreciate this contribution.

This is an outstanding masterpiece and very effective for Reiki. I like the way it flows and is not distracting; you can "become one" with the music.

4.0 out of 5 stars Expressing respect through music, April 22, 2002

I disagree with the idea that the artist is disrespecting the symbols by allowing them to be seen by everyone. If you do any research about reiki on the internet, you will see that the symbols were never meant to be secret. They were only hidden because someone wanted to make a lot of money on them. To me that is the disrespect. The symbols are universal love, and wouldn't you agree that we could use as much love as we can get? Our planet is suffering because of the lack of love, the abundance of greed and hate. The mentality that this is mine, and I will not share it is destroying our planet. The symbols are meant for everyone, as we are all part of the universal love. I feel that Weave did the opposite here. He respected these symbols by creating their voice through music, using sacred geometry and sacred tunings that have been lost.

5.0 out of 5 stars What A Beautiful CD!, June 30, 2009
This review is from: Cho Ku Rei (Audio CD)
I just love using this CD when meditating or giving a Reiki treatment. I highly recommend it!

All the comments about the use of the Reiki symbol is saddening. Sacred does not mean secret!

The power of Cho Ku Rei flows throughout the music and what is displayed on the cover neither adds nor distracts from the beauty of this composition unless your intention is judgment. The symbol itself is of no consequence, it is how it is held in the mind and each of us is responsible for how we perceive it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly from the Heart, December 2, 2002
This review is from: Cho Ku Rei (Audio CD)
How one sees the use of the reiki symbol lies in the eyes of the beholder and in the heart of one's soul. If you see it as respectful, then God bless you. And if you see it as disrespectful, then God bless you as well. Try not to let your ego get in the way of how your heart feels when you hear this music. It is uplifting, passionate and deeply healing. This music is truly from the heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Breathtaking, June 5, 2008

I am a massage therapist, Reiki Master and I use these recordings
in my practice with great delight. I love them, my clients love them!
The level of relaxation and meditation reached is astounding. These
are wonderful to use in self care also. I believe a practice is incomplete without a set of this series from Weave.

5.0 out of 5 stars powerful and effective healing music, January 25, 2001
By
This review is from: Cho Ku Rei (Audio CD)
This is an excellent piece of music for healing work. It's different than the other reiki cds i've used because of its direct focus on the energy of the chokurei symbol. I appreciate the approach of musical sacred geometry to this sacred symbol. I also like how it uses the sacred tunings for the chakra system. A lot of thought and care obviously went into making it. It really enhances a reiki session, and has been very effective. I deeply feel the presence of the chokurei when it is played. Hopefully this same approach will be done for the other reiki symbols.
