Product Description

Iliotibial Band (ITB) Strap Cho-PatÕs new I.T.B. Strap will apply compression at the area of discomfort to help relieve Iliotibial Band Syndrome. The strap uses compression to help prevent the snapping or friction of the iliotibial band over the bony prominence just above and outside of the knee joint or further up the leg at the hip joint allowing the healing process to begin. The I.T.B. Strap is recognized as an effective addition to the treatment procedures for Iliotibial Band Syndrome. As such, while it may alleviate the symptoms of Iliotibial Band Syndrome, the cause of the affliction may still be present. It is suggested the user seek evaluation and treatment by a medical professional in conjunction with the bandÕs use. Ideally, the user should wear the strap nearest the area of most discomfort. However, the user can wear it approximately 2Ó Ð 3Ó in either direction with beneficial results. Warning: Wear tight enough to attain relief but not impede circulation and normal leg movement. Do not wear to bed. Sizing: Measure Circumference at site of most discomfort Note: If you are between sizes, we suggest you order the smaller size. For the Shin Splint Compression Sleeve and all the Knitted Compression devices, we suggest ordering a size larger.

2.0 out of 5 stars There are better products for this..., April 20, 2008

This review is from: Cho-Pat Illiotibial ITB Strap - Choose Size (Misc.)
I have ITBS and ordered three different compression straps off the internet. This one I give the lowest review, because unlike the other two products, this one did not stay in the correct position on my thigh to provide compression. Due to its lower elasticity, it falls from three inches above knee cap down to right above the knee cap in just a few minutes of exercize. Though the hardware looks great, this product just didn't work for me, and I suspect, for most people.

The other two products are the ProTec - IT Band Wrap which gets my highest review - see the product page. The PatStrap gets my second place vote, only inferior to the ProTec product in that it is a thinner band that feels more restrictive. It also eats my leg hairs when I take it off!

I recommend the 'ProTec - IT Band Wrap'.

Don't waste your time with this thing. The material is soft and doesn't stay put on your leg. There's another product that I picked up that's made out of neoprene. Something like that works much better.
