Chi is Kidnapped!,
This review is from: Chobits - Disappearance (Vol. 5) (DVD)
Chobits: Volume 5: Disappearance contains four episodes, 19-22. The episodes are titled: "Chi Assists," "Chi Disappears," "Chi Waits," and "Chi Hopes."
Chi and Hideki help Miss Manager do some heavy-duty spring cleaning. Hideki comes upon a strange room filled with cables. Sumomo gets electrocuted on one of the cables. We learn a big secret about the landlord. She is not the simple, helpful lady she appears to be. On her way to work, Chi finds the third book in the mysterious series, "A Town With No People." While she is looking at the book, she is grabbed from behind. When Hideki comes home from prep school, he is frantic and desperate to find not only a dark apartment, but a phone call from Chi's boss saying she never made it to work. With the help of Minoru, Chi's boss and Shinbo (who manages to tear himself away from his steamy elopement to help Hideki) some detective work on the computer and the Internet may have located Chi - but is it too late? It is hard to believe that there is only one volume left of this wonderful, charming series.

This review is from: Chobits - Disappearance (Vol. 5) (DVD)
this dvd goes more into the feelings and emotions of the characters not as carefree and relaxed as last dvd. as the show progresses the problem with human persocom relations is realized and often shunned. however its clear that hideki really does care about chi and this sets up for some major drama to follow

Memory(ies) comes into play again,

This review is from: Chobits - Disappearance (Vol. 5) (DVD)
Face it, hard drives can be formatted, data can be erased. All that can be considered memories in a computer can disappear in the flick of a switch. But for humans, memory remains. Is it futile to try to share memories with a machine? If the machine loses that data, what comes next? What could come of such a relationship? This disk asks more questions than it answers. It's definately worth watching but it makes it all the more painful to wait for the final episodes. By now the series has become a full blown drama. Be prepared to cry!
