This review is from: Choco-Louie (Bank Street Ready-To-Read) (Library Binding)
Louie kid loves chocolate so much that his brother bets him he can't go without it -- and promises Choco Louie a new skateboard if he can resist his beloved chocolate. It's a simple book, but you'll enjoy reading it to the kiddies because it satirizes marketing and branding (with all the faux chocolate-based products) and another side benefit: It playfully tweaks sibling rivalry and teasing. Read it to siblings -- they'll giggle with recognition as one kid antagonizes the other by tempting him with chocolate in scenarios that are wacky as Clouseau in the Pink Panther films. Finally, it's about a little boy named Louie who faces temptation with resilience and sticks to his vow to resist it. It's about chocolate. It's about sibling rivalry. It's about time.
