Book Description

September 2005
THE NECESSARY HUNGER! A foreign phrase to sedate English professor, Olivia Anderson, unless one were referring to food and such. However, Olivia learns the erotic meaning when she's enticed to take a walk on the wild side and attends an all male revue with a distinct urban edge. There, hidden desires are brought forth especially by one dancer known only as Flava.

Returning from her adventure only slightly singed, Professor Anderson gets the shock of her life the first day of the semester when none other than Flava is sitting front and center in her classroom.

From that point on, Olivia's world becomes a roller coaster ride of self-discovery where she will either face her deepest fears and possibly discover the love of her life...or endure great anguish.

About the Author

Author, Edwina Martin-Arnold, remembers her mother’s proclamation made long ago. "You’re either going to be a lawyer or a writer because you’re always debating with me about something or scribbling in a notebook." Edwina’s mother knew her well because with the publication of Eve’s Prescription, Edwina has become both an attorney and an author.

Edwina was born in Texas and grew up in Washington State. She attended the University of Washington where she met and married her husband, John. After working for two years as a buyer at Boeing, Edwina left to attend law school at the University of Puget Sound. Upon graduation, Edwina became a prosecutor. She enjoyed a seven-year career before she left to spend more time with her three children. It was during this time that Edwina was able to fulfill her life long fantasy of becoming a romance writer. She is currently working on her fifth book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not the Flava of the month...try lifetime..., June 9, 2006
This review is from: Chocolate Friday (Paperback)
While battling personal issues and disappointments, college professor Olivia Anderson has led a life of quiet and convention, almost to the point of being dull and boring. However, a night out with the girls brings her face-to-face with erotic, eye-opening and endless possibilities.

Andre "Flava" Flaven has had his eyes on Olivia for quite a while and considers their face-to-face encounter nothing short of fate and destiny. Although, he's sexy, strong and compassionate, he's not the type of man Olivia would consider dating or having a relationship with.

Olivia's reluctance to date Andre propels him to educate her on aspects of life and living -- from his unique perspective. The lessons she learns are in self-discovery, pleasurable passion, trust and ultimately, true love. This is my third book by Mrs. Arnold and it blew me away! I will read anything this sister writes. Wonderful, wonderful book!

"Chocolate Friday" written and published by Edwina Martin-Arnold is a wonderful book. I took that book everywhere with me! I absolutely love the fact that the book is based in my hometown and that I could relate to almost all of the places, especially Philadelpia Fevre! I also loved the fact that the heroine had legit problems that she had to work through. Who couldn't identify with that? Thank you Edwina for writting an amusing, wonderful, creative novel for me to enjoy. I recommend this book to anyone over the age of 18, who can read!

Purchased during a book-buying-burst as part of my holiday down-time reading (ha), this book, to my horror, sat on my shelf 4 months before I finally read it. I found Chocolate Friday to be a magnificent chocolate treat. This book is a kin to the finest dark chocolate - rich, flavorful, not too sweet, just a little decadent, and oh so satisfying. The story of English professor Olivia Anderson and Andre "Flava" Flaven is more than a wonderful well-told romance. It captures and incorporates a little of the feel of campus life and politics; it has humor, passion, "flava" - not just flavor, and depth within a quick enjoyable read. Olivia learns, among other things, that you can't judge a book by its cover. The story incorporates love and patience from what initially appears to be an unlikely source with solid, supportive family and friends to assist Olivia on her journey to personal growth and ultimately a much more gratifying life. I loved this book from the sexy, humorous beginning to the passionate, amusing center until the loving, witty end. This book was one treat I had to share with friends.
