5.0 out of 5 stars Cam Jansen is one of the Best Kid Detectives I've ever read
You have to love Cam Jansen. When you're a kid, you read all of these stories about magic powers, mystery, and adventure. But everyone tells you magic can't exist. Cam Jansen manages to solve every case without the use of magic... she's a real girl. That's what makes her special and what makes you want to red more and more. 3.0 out of 5 stars Cam Jansen book lover
This book was not the best Cam Jansen. It was a little boring. I love most of Cam Jansen's books. Cam Jansen and the mystery of the Carnival Prize is my favorite so far.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting and engaging chapter books for lower elementary readers, February 1, 2011
My kindergartner has just started reading chapter books, and after the Junie B. Jones books (she loves them, I abhor them because of the rude language and weak grammar), I was desperately searching for an engaging and well-written series of chapter books for young readers who have advanced beyond the leveled readers. A good friend of mine recommended the Cam Jansen series of books and to my delight, my daughter loves the series! We initially tried the Young Cam Jansen readers such as Young Cam Jansen and the Missing Cookie and after she got through the series, I thought this would be the next step to take.

The stories are engaging and the chapters are relatively short so that it does not prove intimidating or overwhelming for a young reader. Cam Jansen is blessed with a remarkable, photographic memory and uses this gift to solve the mysteries that come her way. This story focuses on Cam's and her best friend Eric's efforts to raise funds for the local library by selling fudge but of course, they stumble on a mystery! There are black and white illustrations scattered throughout to capture readers' interest. This is a great beginning mystery series for young readers!

4.0 out of 5 stars Kevin's Review of Cam Jansen and the Chocolate Fudge Mystery, January 11, 2001
By A Customer
This book was about a girl called Cam Jansen. Cam is short for Camera because she has a camera mind. She goes "click" and she can remember things. I liked the story because it was a mystery book and I like mystery stories. I liked the part about the sneaky person next door to Cam's friend and how Cam figured out the mystery about this person. I would recommend this book to other kids who like mystery books, because this was a really good book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cam Jansen does it again, July 20, 2010
Cam Jansen is a super detective due to her photographic memory. Cam and her best friend Eric are out selling fudge bars and rice cakes for charity when they notice a woman with sunglasses and a raincoat carrying a bag to a garbage can. The strange thing is it isn't raining or sunny out, so why the glasses and coat? Before Eric can say wait, Cam is on the case trying to figure out what the strange lady is up to. While the garbage doesn't look to crazy when they dig through it, soon new clues unveil themselves to a true mystery that needs to be solved. Can Cam solve the mystery or does she need a little police intervention?

The Cam Jansen series is a great way to get young readers interested in thinking outside the box and start putting clues together. As an adult reader, I do believe the book was solved a bit too easily by a young girl, but in truth that is part of the fun. I know my two children love the series and I think other children will too. Once they get a taste of Cam Jansen they will be hooked

5.0 out of 5 stars LOT'S 'O PRO'S, NO CONS, April 25, 2001
A Kid's Review
I LOVE THIS BOOK! IT'S ALWAYS MAKES YOU THINK AND CAM CAN PASS EVERY SINGLE CLUE A PRIVATE EYE DETECTIVE CAN'T SEE. ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT ON EVERY BOOK THERE IS A VERY LONG INTERDUCTION IN FIRST FEW PAGES. ANYWAY I LOVE THIS MOSTLY BECAUSE OF THEIR UNPERDICTABLE ENDINGS (CAM AND ERIC'S FAMILY ALWAYS GETS AN AWARD). I RECOMEND THIS BOOK TO EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU
