From the Publisher

"We selected A Chocolate Taste as our first book because it expresses positive images of Black women's bodies and sexual satisfaction. It offers an elegant, healthy alternative to the negative stereotypes of Black women. We are receiving enthusiastic support from women throughout the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean, telling us how refreshing it is to read such authentic vignettes. Our biggest surprise is how popular A Chocolate Taste is with men. They are especially intrigued by the erotic prowess of women awakened to their true nature. The poetic form is very straight forward--suggestive, but not intrusive. It allows the reader to insert their own images and characters, making the experience very personal. It is a rare individual who can resist chocolate. And so it is with A Chocolate Taste."

4.0 out of 5 stars Chocolate decadence!, May 21, 2002

This review is from: A Chocolate Taste (Paperback)
The cover of A Taste Of Chocolate entices the reader's taste
buds and prepares them for a tantalizing treat. There are so
many different flavors and colors of chocolate that turning
each page and savoring the tastes, will heighten your love
of 'chocolate' treats. Saphron eloquently serves this
verbally erotic snack with a sweet rhythmic flow. Titles like
'Mussels', 'Back Massage' and 'Kudos' give body parts a life
of their own. With her flowing temperate voice she captivates
the mind and sends the senses reeling.

As a reader I wanted to select a favorite, but I loved all
the flavors in this book. Pick up a copy of 'A Taste of
Chocolate-Erotic Poems' and take a sensorial journey into a
chocolate fantasy. And if you love succulent recipes; prepare
and feast on the poem 'Jungle Juice'; it serves two.

This book should be read to someone it's an aphrodisiac...

4.0 out of 5 stars Erotic Poems, April 7, 2003

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: A Chocolate Taste (Paperback)
Life is like a box of chocolates but apparently so is sex. In Chocolate Taste the author, Saphron, puts the box on the table and takes the lid completely off. Without mincing any words, and alliteration and metaphors abounding, the author writes poetry not only for those who enjoy reading it but those who like to talk about it.

With poems like Train Ride, Doin' the Dog, Pile Driver, Wake Up Call, and Mussels, Saphron leaves nothing to the imagination, yet it is all in the imagination. You will find some more sensuous pieces but they make less of a statement. Those who like it butt-bare naked raw will be able to appreciate this collection. If you are not afraid of strong sexual language and strong visual imagery, you would want to pick up A Taste of Chocolate.
