Aaaaahhhh the deep mysteries of the human psyche are explained now through Chocolate Therapy. The chocolate photography is enough on its own for this book to be a *must have* for any true chocolate afficionado. However, the divinatory comments are wonderfully insightful. Do not make the mistake of taking this book too lightly! This book makes an excellent birthday/festive season gift.

What a wonderful book! What you can tell about someone just by what chocolate they choose (and what they do with the wrapper afterwards...) Everyone I've shared the book with has loved their personality type descriptions and most agree that they fit! Gorgeous photos too. Makes me hungry for more chocolate...

Fun Pop Therapy,

Not real mental care help, what book can honestly claim to be that? But "Chocolate Therapy" by Murray Langham looks at three "layers" of chocolates and uses them to offer insights into your emotions and your personality. It is best used as fun not as serious therapy.
These three layers are Shape/Type, Added Centers, and Wrappers. Shape and type are actually two categories, aren't they? You can have a round milk chocolate or that round could be white, bittersweet, or dark. Langham lists 25 possible added ingredients but the list is certainly longer than that and to be blunt, added ingredients aren't only in the "center" of chocolates. Probably the most psychologically sound part of the book has to be what we do with the wrappers much like how looking at our doodling or how we sit could indicate certain personality traits. The chocolate discussed here isn't your Hershey bars but instead the individual pieces you can buy from small shops or in boxed collections. However I think you could have just as much pop therapy fun if you used type, centers, and wrappers and just ignored the shape category.

I thoroughly enjoy reading and using this book with close friends. Written to be entertaining and practical, it takes an interesting look at what our preferences for particular chocolates say about our inner landscape. Take a box of chocolates. Make a selection and find out where you are coming from? It is a fun idea, and one that offers endless possibilities with ones friends, relations and significant others. Mouth wateringly illustrated with photographs and images by New Zealand artist Roger Simpson, this book has something for the sensualist, epicurean, aesthete and those, like me, who are just passionate about chocolate. Buy it!
