5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Wonderful
I got the book at the airport on the way to New Orleans...I cried, I laughed, I thought. The stories make you think is this where I am suppose to be? Is this the person I am suppose to marry? Is is my career? Am I being all that God intends for me to be? If my life ended today would I have accomplished all that I wanted to accomplish. I can't wait to read the...

1.0 out of 5 stars As empty of true nourishment as a Snickers Bar
I found this book to be very disappointing. The authors seem to find their joys in strange and curious ways, like the women who, after applying a torniquet to a man's arm after a terrible car accident, later realizes that she didn't get anything on her white suit and wasn't late for her appointment. Another story tells of a psychic reading which gives a woman the...

5.0 out of 5 stars Joy of Sharing, March 15, 2000
By
Carol Zavodsky (Western Washington) - See all my reviews
This book was absolutely the best thing that could happen to a woman who loves sharing her life with others. The stories were uplifting and gentle...the kind you share with your best friend when you are cozily chatting over a piece of pie and coffee. Having the book near makes it always possible to share a moment with a friend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Give this book to your sisters and friends!, January 4, 2000

You will be able to relate and connect to the people who have written these poems and powerful confessions. Just like chocolate this book soothes your spirit when not much else can. So on the heaviest day of your period after you've been laid off and your husband of boyfriend has left you and your dog doesn't even like you and you feel like a horrible mother and total failure: On that day read this book and you will know that you can cope. Very rich and comforting to digest. I also recommend Something More: Excavating Your Authentic Self by Sarah Ban Breathnach. Both are wonderful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Chocolate as nourishment! You bet!, September 4, 1998
By A Customer
I really enjoyed this book - it was great to be able to sit down and read as I pleased; skipping around, or reading sections in order - just like a box of chocolates.

I found the stories to be grounded in the reality of everyday life; but inspiring. You can either let life get you down, or work through problems and gain experience and wisdom. Take what you've learned from a difficult experience and run with it; ultimately, only we ourselves can make ourselves happy. This collection of short stories take the ideas above, and adds to it.

Read this book - you won't regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspirational, encouraging, heart-warming., March 17, 1999

These stories touch your heart and soul. I'm sure that many women are encouraged and inspired to fulfill their dreams, make necessary changes in their lives and are reaffirmed that who they are is just fine. I was so touched by these books that I have given Kay's books to my three grown daughters and many of my friends as gifts. I love the theme of Kay's books - empowering, encouraging and supporting women in whatever they choose for their lives! Keep up the good work, Kay!

5.0 out of 5 stars Only a minute to read. Warm thoughts to last a lifetime., May 27, 1998

As one of the contributing authors to Kay's books, I can't tell you how wonderful it was to work with this big hearted, sweet-souled woman. Her concept of very short stories, each with real essence, real spirit, is just what contemporary women of all ages need. When your chin is drooping and you don't think you can go on, pick up this book. It's the one lying next to your Bible.

Also note that this book is written with a New Age point of view.
