5.0 out of 5 stars A deep, ecumenical anthology of the spiritual search, January 1, 1999
This review is from: The Choice Is Always Ours: The Classic Anthology on the Spiritual Way (Paperback)
Now that the millenium is drawing to a close, this book is needed more than ever. It is a thoughtful, deeply felt and balanced anthology of writings that come from the deepest heart of humanity. It has inspired and uplifted me and revealed to me a world of wonder, wisdom and compassion that I never knew existed. I have always held a healthy distrust of dogma and spiritual superiority. This book shows that all teachings ultimately converge on themselves. It points to a fresh way to conduct our lives-one of openness, suffering, pain, joy and dignity. It is tuly a wonderful book. If the publisher of the book reads this, I hope it convinces him to reissue it. My copy is dog eared, weathered and yellowed from countless drops of coffee from coffee shops everywhere. For me, it is a sort of spiritual teddy bear that I carry with me everywhere. (So much for non-attachment.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Not a coaster or a doorstop, December 30, 2002

This review is from: The Choice Is Always Ours: The Classic Anthology on the Spiritual Way (Paperback)
This is one of those books that never stays on the shelf. In fact, it is almost always lent out. Which is why I bought this copy. My husband already owned a copy, but we wanted a second one so we could always have one on hand. It is a collection of spiritual readings from many sources. Selections include Socrates, Jung, Freud, Jesus Christ, Saint Francis of Assissi... The selections all have one thing in common, a search for Spiritual Truth.

This review is from: The Choice Is Always Ours: The Classic Anthology on the Spiritual Way (Paperback)
It is an anthology with an exhaustive and well organised compilation of various subjects in spiritual growth. I used to read this book everynight before going to bed till I lost it.
