Book Description

What would you do for someone you loved?

--“The Choice will leave you questioning your own morals and motivations and leave you asking others what they would do in that same situation. This is a genre-bending novel that will surprise you”— Amazon Reviewer, JRA

--“From the Pacific Northwest to New Orleans, with its rich Cajun heritage, dialect, food...and voodoo, comes this spellbinder from Ms Eckhart.”—Reviewer, Elysabeth

--“This book has everything I love. Romance, suspense, action and spiritual life struggles. Loved it! Kept me on my toes. The author creates characters that the readers either love or hate or a little, of both.” – Reviewer, Tina Marie

Editorial Reviews

A genre-bending novel that will surprise you...Amazon Reviewer -JRA
Praise for The Choice, the first book in the Walk the Right Road Series:

From Romance Junkies
"A modern day crime with all the right elements to make the book enticing. Lust, love, lies and trust are perfectly matched to just a spark of magic. Now I must anxiously await the newest edition of THE CHOICE."

With her finger on the pulse of human emotion and life choices very closely linked with everyday issues, Ms. Eckhart is spot on with the chemistry between our hero and heroine. Their lives are emotionally drained and to the brink of hopelessness, however their determination to stand up for what is right made me want to stand up and yell BRAVO! This is what humanity is all about! The darkness surrounding our characters metaphorically and physically bring realism to a world that does exist in society, and the way she masterfully works out each detail was brilliant.

From the Author

Every book I write has characters near and dear to my heart. The books I write are the ones I want to read, with characters I want to meet, (Okay maybe one or two I'd rather not), but with hero's to cheer for, and always love to hope for.
~ Lorhainne Eckhart

4.0 out of 5 stars The Autumn Review for The Choice March 14, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Marcie Hollis has learned from a young age that she has a strong spiritual connection. She feels one of those connections is with her boyfriend Dan. However, since becoming involved with Dan, her spiritual training has fallen behind. Then Marcie heads down to New Orleans from Seattle. This was supposed to be a trip with Dan, but when they get to the airport he tells her the plans have changed and she'll be going on her own. She's left stunned and devastated that he won't be going with her. After she arrives in New Orleans, she waits for her bags and while there gets mugged. It just so happens that DEA Agent Sam Carre is standing right behind her when this happens.

Sam needed to come home to regroup after a failed drug bust. Now he's a witness to a crime. The problem is, he's trying to help the lady who fell victim to the crime and she doesn't remember her name. Sam decides to care for her until she can regain her memories. Her situation with the mugging leaves him with many questions that make him feel that she may be linked to his failed investigation.

Marcie and Sam develop a romantic relationship while they try to solve the puzzle. Once Marcie has her memory back, she goes to Sam to come clean. Will he be able to go against his beliefs and keep her secret or will he turn her in?

My Take:
One of my favorite things to do is problem solving. I don't mean that in a therapy session sense. I mean, let's figure out who done it. I was looking forward to this book because it combines both romance and suspense/mystery. I appreciated the moral of the story. You have different paths in this life to choose from, it's up to you to make the right choice.

1.0 out of 5 stars Objectionalbe content... March 17, 2013

Was not a sexy romantic suspense, there was only two times in the very long book where there was anything sexing going on. Most of the book is about witch craft and choosing to side with the forces of good or evil.

5.0 out of 5 stars A dynamic catch-22... April 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
From the Pacific Northwest to New Orleans, with its rich Cajun heritage, dialect, food...and voodoo, comes this spellbinder from Ms Eckhart.
The ultimate heroine is not completely aware of what she has gotten into, but quick to find out. And it's not for her wellbeing or grip on reality that she discovers a prime, supernatural source of evil...hadn't the old woman told her?
From drugs to the DEA, all combines into a masterful book of cannot put down, or look away from.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Choice January 29, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A friend of mine posted a quick review of this book on Facebook. The brief synopsis caught my attention. I am glad it did. This was a very quick and easy read. Well planned out. I enjoyed the twists and turns. The romance was subtle which I found refreshing. I loved the characters. The ending left a lot of unanswered questions, but I suppose that was planned as well. I bought the second book and look forward to reading it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A supernatural thriller that packs a punch. July 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
As someone with knowledge of Wicca and a love for New Orleans, I found "The Choice" to be a highly engaging read. Marcie Hollis, the lead, ends up in the Crescent City where she meets Sam and the two are forced to deal with an otherworldly evil.

"The Choice" will leave you questioning your own morals and motivations and leave you asking others what they would do in that same situation. This is a genre-bending novel that will surprise you.

3.0 out of 5 stars Will Pull You In But Not Really Keep You April 12, 2014
By Natasha
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I had thought I would like this book more than I did, particularly as I had already purchased the sequel when I bought this one, but I found the dialogue and characters to be wanting. Unfortunately, the best and most believable character was the villain -- the drug dealer boyfriend. I wanted to cheer on the "good" cast, but they were so vacuous, it was difficult. The plot was well done, and seemingly well researched for this kind of book. But on the whole I found myself wanting to get it finished, so I could move on to another book.
