Someone gave me this book. I didn't read it until one day, months later, when I was going through a closet, preparing to move to a place where I wasn't sure I wanted to live, and I came across the book. I sat down amidst the boxes, brushed the dust off the book with my shirtsleeve, and started reading.

It was an epiphany. It opened my eyes to the fact that I could CHOOSE TO CHOOSE. As a writer, I could live wherever there was Internet access and a post office. I had always wanted to live in the eastern U.S., and there I'd been, about to move from the Midwest to the West Coast. WHY? The book made me aware, as I'd never been before, of the life I could live, if I simply CHOSE.

I sit writing this, now, in a big, beautiful old Victorian house---MY house!---in a charming little Upstate NY village. Family members who moved west when I moved here, soon decided they liked it better here, and have settled near me. All because of that book! I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who wants to free up your life, to get rid of the limitations of habit and lazy thinking, and to become what you always suspected you could be, just by choosing to choose.

Readers are encouraged to create a pattern of success and give themselves rewards along the way. In so doing, a person learns to enjoy the process of achievement.
As the title indicates, a lot is said about the choices one makes on the journey of success. Helmstetter makes the point that all choices, regardless of how small they seem to be affect us in some way. The consequence is the individual is the summation of those choices.

Few books can have the impact of actually changing your life. This simple book is amazingly effective in giving you the ability to move your life in the direction you want to go. I can't belive it's out of print.

My husband and I each have our own copy of this book. We have bought 16 of these books for friends and family, who have expressed intrest in it, after we have told them about it!! And we will be ordering more shortly. It has made a major impact on our life and we would HIGHLY recommend it to everyone! (This book was recommended to us, by a friend also)

I bought this book after my father and mother died. It took me beyond "surviving" into "thriving"! Shortly thereafter, my brother also died but this time I healed better because of the lessons I had applied from reading "Choices". This is clearly a book for mapping out a personal plan for thriving! The concepts are both easy to understand and reasonable to apply. Enjoy both the challanges and rewards that implementing the principles offers...It's a great ride!
