5.0 out of 5 stars Choices, April 19, 2000

I was first introduced to CHOICES 17 years ago when my sister-in-law was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. Using the book as a reference work, we were able to understand the disease she was dealing with, the tests and treatments that she was going through. It bridged the 2000 mile gap that existed between the family. I passed the earlier edition on to other friends who unfortunately had to deal with cancer. It became my bible when my husband was diagnosed as well. During the 4 years that he fought the battle, it continued to be our constant companion. When my husband's illness was declared "terminal" CHOICES remained pertinent with questions about final "choices" The authors address issues in clear layman's language. It also allows the patient to ask more informed questions and feel a better sense of control in the treatment of his or her illness. This book won't make the New York Times Best Sellers list but, it is a wonderful book to have when you need it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A _must_ book for anyone touched by cancer in any way, December 29, 1996
By A Customer
This is a oversized softback that is invaluable to anyone
who has cancer, anyone who fears they may have cancer, or
anyone that knows someone who has cancer. What this book
does is explain the multitude of types of cancer in easy to
understnd lauguage and tells you what you need to know and
what you need to ask your doctor regarding the diagnosis,
prognosis and treatment.

If nothing else it will empower the reader and help to take
the fear of the unknown out of the equation.

This book is constantly updated and I just ordered my third
copy since it was published in 1980.

5.0 out of 5 stars Choices, Fourth Edition by Marion Morra, March 14, 2006
This review is from: Choices, Fourth Edition (Choices: The Most Complete Sourcebook for Cancer Information) (Paperback)
When I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 1989, I discovered this book and have been recommending it to cancer patients ever since. Recently, I decided it was time to get a more up to date edition and I am glad that I did. It not only has a lot of additional information, it is still as easy to use as the earlier edition.

'Choices' is the one book that provides newly diagnosed cancer patients with answers to questions that many of us did not even we should ask. Yours in good health, Nora Deane
