I hate to give a bad review but... "Choices" was a BIG disappiontment. "Choices" is about a disabled high school athlete, (played by Paul Carfotes) and his girlfriend Carri. (played by Demi Moore.) I am all for rooting for the under dog but please... This movie is so bad it put me to sleep.
When I went back to watch this movie a second time I was still very lost. "Choices" is suposed to be about a disabled athlete and his girlfriend. However, I did not catch on to what the the problem was until the movie nearly ended.
All actors did an ok job given the weak story and dialogue. One actor I was impressed with was, Victor French, of "Little House on the Prairie" and "Highway to Heaven" fame. Of all the cast, I think victor gave the strongest performance. Victor's performance is also the reason for my two star rating.
In my opinion, spend your money on something else. Chances are, this movie would be collecting dust in your collection.

No one knew Demi Moore would become a major star when she made her debut in Choices. She was cast because of her sultry voice and fine audition. The movie is sweet and heartfelt. Several key scenes weren't filmed when the production ran out of money. But what was accomplished for $300,000 is impressive.

For starters, I want to agree with most other reviews about the quality of the transfer. Many of the scenes seem to be almost black and white except for one item/person that will be in color. Other movies from this same time period have been put out in DVD at better quality. That aside, the storyline was very weak. There is no indication as to why the new Dr suddenly decides that the main character should play football. From the little that was discussed in the movie, the reason seemed to be that he worried about the risk of further hearing loss due to continuing to play? That seems like a potentially legitimate concern. Everyone else seems to feel that the kid is just being discriminated again and in the end (SPOILER ALERT) the football coach decides to just let him play when the championship game is on the line. With the help of the main character, the team, of course, wins. Though there's an on screen explanation that the real person went to college, playing football for his college team, there's no further comment on why the issue even came up.

In the movie blurb Demi Moore is described as the girlfriend. That isn't really true until the end of the movie, and isn't really part of the plot. Her character doesn't play a big role in the movie, even though she's on the cover.

I bought this movie thinking it was a different Demi Moore movie. Demi is barly even in this movie, even though her picture is pasted all over the front cover. The dvd is very poor quality. A buzzing sound is in the background throughout the movie and the picture isn't sharp. It is a made for TV movie, and not a good one. It is about a boy who plays football and gets hurt and can no longer play. He feels his life is over and crys about it for about 75 minutes of the film. Don't even rent it on 99 cent night.

I actually bought this movie several years ago somewhere, and only because the star actor - Paul Carafotes - is from my hometown of Somerville MA, one of my uncles went to high school with him, and I used to know and work with his sister when I was in high school. Only reason I bought it - well, that and the fact it was only $1.00 at the local Walmart. Even the DVD version was of really bad quality and the movie itself was pretty boring. It was like one of those bad "movie of the week" movies that used to be on TV every week on one of the networks in the days before all the cable channels.
