Nice Music, December 25, 2007
This review is from: Choir of Hard Knocks (Audio CD)
I saw this choir on 1st december 2007,only because Judith Durham was there.
But i did enjoy the show, they have some good singers, and have been professionally
trained as singers. These are people who you applaud for being able to deal with
their particular problems.I have always felt it is insensitive to compare
someones problem with anothers, and saying which ones worse. As everyones problem
is unique to that person.I have had some hard knocks myself but i might just leave that there, cause i wonder if my issues are relevant to this product. So i can look at these people and applaud them for overcoming
their problems. But there is a talent in everyone and these people show us theirs.

Singing from the heart: The Choir of Hard Knocks, June 29, 2007
This review is from: Choir of Hard Knocks (Audio CD)
The Choir of Hard Knocks is a group of homeless and disadvantaged people in Australia who have been singing together since September 2006.
Their voices (both collectively and individually) are simply awesome and this album is a tribute to them. The founding director of the choir is Jonathon Welch, and Jimmy Barnes has been a great supporter.
Some of the tracks (in particular 'Hallelujah' and 'Amazing Grace') are inspiring.
Recommended to all who believe in the power of song. The royalties from the sale of this CD keep the choir singing!
Jennifer Cameron-Smith
