4.0 out of 5 stars Let it rain!
I bought these because I needed rainboots, but didn't want some fuddy duddy old pair. The colors are bright and bold and simply gorgeous. They slip on and off easily and are pretty comfy to walk in. They are a tad narrow, so if you have a wide foot these are not for you. I wear an 8 1/2 and normally would go up a size if half sizes aren't available, but the 9's I...

1.0 out of 5 stars Just wait until it rains.
I fell in love with the cute design and bought a pair of chooka rainboots on impulse for $55. I fell in love with the cute design and bought a pair of chooka rainboots on impulse for $55. For the first few weeks, they offered adequate protection, but the thin lining rubbed terribly against my ankles and made my shins sweat. They also gave me thick blisters on the souls of my feet, but at least they kept me dry. Then, several months after my purchase (and right around when it was too late to return them), my left boot filled up with water when I was out for a walk. It seems that the seal had given out. I hadn't done anything to cause it--it's obviously a manufacturing defect. I wish I'd gone with the far cheaper pair of Target boots my friend got. I'd have about $30 more in my pocket and dry feet. Live and learn.

1.0 out of 5 stars WILL FALL APART!!!, November 30, 2008

THESE BOOTS WILL FALL APART!!!

They are cute, but don't be fooled. I bought 4 pairs of chooka rain boots and they ALL FELL APART before being worn 5 times. They will slit up the back, sides, and along the toe.

2.0 out of 5 stars Utility? HA!, October 3, 2008
By
This review is from: Chooka Women's Koi Tattoo Rainboot (Apparel)
Let's be clear--the boots are gorgeous. But for $60 and the company's spiel about "utility" in the product description, I expected these boots to keep my feet, you know, dry. Not so. I wore them maybe five or six times before the left boot began leaking. Now I can't wear them at all, because water apparently gets in, but can't get out; by the end of the day, my feet are absolutely sopping wet. Chooka has not responded to repeated emails inquiring about any product replacement or refund policy.

They are a tad narrow, so if you have a wide foot these are not for you. I wear an 8 1/2 and normally would go up a size if half sizes aren't available, but the 9's I originally ordered were HUGE. I am very pleased with my boots, and find myself wishing for rain just for the excuse to wear them.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cute, but short-lived, October 4, 2008
This review is from: Chooka Women's Koi Tattoo Rainboot (Apparel)
I've had two different pairs of Chooka rain boots and both times, they developed tears at the seam of the sole within a few months of purchse. I live in Seattle and felt that rain boots were a perfect shoe for the rain and snow. The tread on the shoe is good, so you definitely won't slip, but I was surprised at the degree of wear they developed just wearing them for walking to school and work. On one pair, the buckle cracked, and on both pairs, there were holes in the rubber that water would leak through. When I called Chooka's customer service number to ask about repair, their represantative rudely informed me that "It's rubber. There's nothing you can do about it. Just return it if it's still under warranty." Thanks, jerk. For a company located right outside of Seattle, I would've expected a longer lasting rain boot. Overall, I love the style and comfort of the boots, but they are not made for everyday use. Only consider purchasing if you don't reside in a largely rainy climate.

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of Money and Time, February 20, 2009

I thought these were so cute when I saw them and I still love the pattern, but I hate the actual boot. The first ones that arrived were marked an 8 on the bottom but a 9 inside. I tried them on anyway. And by "tried" I mean "crammed." The length seemed almost ok for me (I'm a 9) but these boots are so narrow and tight that my foot went numb in a matter of minutes. So I ordered a replacement.

The second pair arrived this time marked correctly (size 9) on the bottom but still way too small. In addition, the pattern is worn off in many places all over the boots. Additionally, I'm nauseous for the smell of rubber in my room. I have to put them in the hall.

What a shame. I held such high hopes for these, especially at the price they're going for.

3.0 out of 5 stars cheapy feel, August 13, 2008
I thought these boots would have some substance to them for the amount of money they cost. But they do not. They run true to size in my case, but have really cheap insoles and no support whatsoever. They do work great as a door stop. =(

1.0 out of 5 stars No quality Control! No customer service! They LEAK!, March 4, 2009

Like others, I love the design, but this company does NOT care about the quality of its product. I'm on my second replacement pair. The first two leaked, and it looks like this pair leaks as well. Online customer service is a joke -- they simply don't care and they're not very bright. I've seen THREE different product warrantees, everywhere from one year to 30 days UNWORN. They've apparently changed manufacturers, and the newer fit is very tight around the arch, but at least the insole doesn't continually slip forward, which was very annoying. Didn't solve the leaking issue, though and they clearly have no process for checking their merchandise for defects. As much as I love the design, and I do get compliments all the time, I'm going to return them if they do leak. This company needs to get the message that in this economy, none of us can afford to fork over $60 for garbage.

2.0 out of 5 stars looks are deceiving, February 18, 2009
This review is from: Chooka Women's Koi Tattoo Rainboot (Apparel)
I bought these since I loved the design...unfortunantly the first time I wore them my feet got wet. I tried to ignore it, and then wore them again and the same thing happened.

I am getting rid of them and getting some legit rainboots...the kind that do their job.

1.0 out of 5 stars Garbage- do not buy., February 2, 2010
This review is from: Chooka Women's Koi Tattoo Rainboot (Apparel)
These boots are dreadful and the customer service just as bad.I bought them in Vancouver. They literally fell apart within 6 wearings - bottom split, back split etc.etc. I emailed chooka and they said to go back to the store. Not handy as I now live a days drive away! They said they would not accept the boots back to the factory. Its policy to go to the store.I told them I would write this review if they did not respond to my satisfaction.
Thanks FOR NOTHING!!!
