4.0 out of 5 stars Adorable!
Soo glad I decided to order these rain boots! The yellow color is very cute (not an obnoxious yellow.. more of a mellow color, but still eye-catching) and the boots fit pretty nicely. DEFINITELY order a size up though (unless you have extremely narrow feet); I usually wear a 6.5 or 7 but after reading the reviews, I ordered an 8 and they fit my feet wonderfully well...

Honestly, I really wanted to love these boots. I actually did for a short span of time. They fit well, are comfortable, look great, and I received tons of compliments the few times I was able to wear them in public. The only problem is that after only four wears they began leaking. Living in San Francisco requires a lot of walking and bus rides to get anywhere, and with the often unpredictable weather it's pretty safe to say that some sort of rain boots are necessary if one doesn't own a vehicle. That being said, I was extremely disappointed to discover the seams coming apart in numerous places on both of my boots. First, where the sole meets the boot (the worst place for a hole, I discovered when I stepped into a shallow puddle and felt water seeping through my boot and soaking my socks for an unpleasant trek home). Having just moved, I gave Chooka the benefit of the doubt and figured that something in my moving truck had pushed against them and contorted them, causing the rubber to strain and form holes. Desperate in a week-long stretch of non stop rain, I decided to give them another try and just avoid any noticeable puddles. To my dismay, however, the next time I ventured out in them the vertical seam that runs up the back of the boot began separating. Online I did a little research and discovered that this is a normal problem with this particular style of Chooka rain boots. If you are looking to buys rain boots that you will get more than five uses out of, I would avoid these at all costs. I am extremely disappointed that I spent a good chunk of money on these boots only to have to walk around for half a day in the cold rain with wet feet and no hole-less boots to replace them. Shame on you, Chooka.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good In General, But A Few Issues, October 30, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
To begin, I ordered this boot in what was pictured on the website to be a deep purple (even though when I scrolled over the image w/ the mouse, the color "teal" came up). I thought the difference in color visual vs. text was simply a mistake, as all the other boot colors correctly corresponded. However, the boots have arrived...and they are definitely teal. It's not a bad color, and I won't return them because of the hassle, but I'm definitely a bit disappointed and annoyed by the inaccuracy.
The fit is very good (almost roomy) around my calves; I was worried about this area, as I am 5'10", of average weight, and somewhat larger-boned. Unfortunately, however, the fit is almost too snug across my instep (the top of my foot). I tried on the boots with socks of a medium thickness, and kept them on (mostly standing) for about an hour. I didn't lose circulation in my feet, and they weren't uncomfortable, so I'm currently feeling slightly reassured about that issue.
I generally take a size 9.5 in dress shoes/heels, and a 10 in boots, tennis shoes, etc.; so I ordered these boots in a size 10. I have slightly wider than average feet, so this was a concern; however, while being a little snug, the width of the boot seems to be ok. Oddly enough, there seems to be more room than usual around my heels; the boots rub my heels as I walk, even when I try to move my foot back in the boot. I think it might have something to do with the cut of the boots. I am a private companion animal caregiver, and I do a great deal of walking (often in the rain). I'm concerned that when I walk in these boots for longer periods, this heel-rubbing will cause blisters; but of course only time will tell.
All in all, so far I'm satisfied in general with the boots; however, I've only had them for about 2hr, so if anything changes, I'll be sure to post again!

On a side note, I was a little bummed that the side buckles don't actually work. Much like most other rain boots, the buckles are pretty much for display only (no clasp). This isn't a problem at all for me since I have thick calves anyway, but just be forewarned! :) Overall I'm very pleased with them and would recommend them to a friend.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does the job, March 31, 2010

I got these boots in hunter green to wear to MLS games (go Sounders!). Living in Seattle means I've gotten a lot of use out of these outside gameday. They're the perfect height for splashing through puddles confidently at the march to the match, and the color, of course, wins plenty of compliments in that crowd.

Other than that, my feet are slightly under size 8; I wear 7.5 to 8s, depending on the fit, and these are definitely snug across the top of my foot. After 45 minutes of standing and yelling, I usually have to pull the boots halfway off to let the blood flow back in. :) If you would classify your foot as "tall", I would go a size up or to a different brand - but who really knows how "tall" their feet are, anyway? I thought they'd stretch in with use, but that doesn't seem to be happening.

All in all, good boot, but keep the tags. Shows wear on the sole really quickly, so wear them around the house to test it out.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Durable, May 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I thought that these boots were cute, but within the first three days of wearing them, they had holes in four different places. The rubber material is just not durable, and it rips on the edges very easily, so my feet were getting wet. Even though all I did was walk in them, they still ripped. I was disappointed because they were cute, but just not functional.

Love the color, style, and price. I would however recommend you buy your normal size. I wear a 6 but because of the other reviews I bought a 7. Mistake, it is just too big. I suppose I should return them, but I've already worn them outside.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic :), September 25, 2010

This review is from: Chooka Women's Signature Solid Rain Boot (Apparel)
I love these boots.

I decided to buy an 8 even though I'm an 8.5 so they wouldn't slip off since they don't sell half-sizes. They're a little snug but they are made of soft enough rubber that the difference doesn't really bother me. They look stylish, are environmentally friendly, and are well made. They are comfortable to wear on long walks.

On the downside, however, the natural rubber scuffs easily. I got bright scuff-marks when I accidentally let the tip of my shoe rub against a cement staircase I was climbing. It's faded slightly since then, bothers me only a little, and is scarcely noticeable.

These, overall, are fantastic boots. I would definitely buy from Chooka again.

2.0 out of 5 stars cracked quickly, January 12, 2012
I have had these for ten months, and probably wore them about 20 times and they cracked completely open across the side of one foot. I wouldn't recommend them.

5.0 out of 5 stars HUNTER GREEN Chooka RAIN boots!!, December 12, 2011
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I LOVE THESE BOOTS! I ORDERED THE HUNTER GREEN ONES. I WEAR A SIZE 8 IN MOST OF MY SHOES, I WAS A LITTLE CONFUSED READING THE REVIEWS OF PREVIOUS CUSTOMERS ON WHAT SIZE TO ORDER EVERYONE HAS DIFFERENT ISSUES WITH THE BOOT. I HAVE TO SAY I DECIDED TO ORDERED A SIZE 8 AND THESE BOOTS ARE TRUE TO SIZE!! THEY FIT GREAT AND STILL HAVE ENOUGH ROOM FOR SOCKS. IF YOU LIKE TO HAVE LOTS OF ROOM IN YOUR SHOES THEN ORDER A SIZE UP OTHER THEN THAT IF YOU DON'T WANT THEM TO FLOP AROUND ORDER YOUR TRUE SIZE. IF YOU HAVE BIG CALVES THEY DO HAVE SLIGHT ADJUSTMENT, BUT IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH OTHER BOOTS AND YOUR CALVES I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND PURCHASING THESE BECAUSE YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO PULL THEM OVER YOUR JEANS. HOPE THIS HELPS ANY FUTURE BUYER :)
