About the Author

The American Dream of home ownership has turned into an Epic Nightmare. The Postman was immortalized in Eric Brin's novel of the same name. Kevin Costner later made a movie of the same name. That Postman brought Hope by bringing News and Information to people who were victimized by "Feudal Lords" (today: home lenders backed by Wall Street Investment Banks), who treated them as Indentured Slave -- Serfs. The Postman claimed to represent the "Restored United States of America." This new "The Postman" brings Information and Hope to millions who have been the victims of Predatory Lending by today's Feudal Lords of Wall Street. The Postman provides information to educate and enable families to understand what has happened to them, and what they can do to defend themselves from Predatory Lending practiced by avaricious lenders, financiers and Mortgage Brokers. This enables homeowners to have legal leverage to force a legimate loan modification with a principal reduction. Or, choose to legally and ethically "walk away" with punitive damages if the violations in their loan documents are significant. This will restore realistic prices -- Affordability. And thereby "Restore the American Dream" of home ownership. The Postman

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a "How To" Book, January 25, 2009
By
Todd Bigger "TB" (St. Petersburg, FL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Choose Foreclosure: The Case For Walking Away (Paperback)
If you are expecting a detailed guide on how to walk away from a house that has lost value and in which you have little or no equity, this is not the book for you. Instead, the author provides a philosophical argument for why you are justified in walking away from your house during these times. He likens the owner of a house with a high mortgage payment and decreasing value to an "indentured debt slave". The book rightfully blames Wall Street, banks, predatory lending practices and Alan Greenspan amoung others for creating the real estate "Ponzi Scheme" and getting us, the little guy, trapped in a finanial nighmare. I truly enjoyed reading this, no holds barred, attack on the financial system that created so much pain for Americans. If you have some ethical problem with pursuing foreclosure, this book will rid you of that guilt. There are some helpful guides to walking away from your mortgage but not the kind of state-by-state legal guide I was looking for.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Read - Great Premise - Could have been more concise., April 18, 2010

This review is from: Choose Foreclosure: The Case For Walking Away (Paperback)
I recommend this book.

It is an interesting book with a really strong premise. The premise is strong enough that the book could have been more concise. The general idea(s) are repeated many times, after the idea has already been driven home.

It is still worth the read.
