5.0 out of 5 stars Not the best place to start
Marshall Langer is one of the great writers on tax havens and offshore living, but a book on a specific country is not a good place to start. Begin with a more general book, like "How to Legally Obtain a Second Citizenship and Passport -- and Why You Want To" by Adam Starchild, and then move on to Langer's country-specific book once you understand the basic...

The passport program that this book is about has been suspended, so there isn't a whole lot of point to buying the book anymore.

The Associated Press reported on October 12, 2001 that Grenada has suspended its program of allowing
foreigners to buy passports, saying the practice was too risky after the terrorist attacks in the United States.

``Grenadian passports can end up in the wrong hands and be used for purposes other than for that which they were intended,'' Grenada Finance Minister Anthony Boatswain said.

The program drew criticism even before the Sept. 11 attacks on New York and the Pentagon, with some saying the practice allowed criminals to effectively adopt new legal identities for a price.

Grenada also recently was placed on an international blacklist of countries considered uncooperative in fighting money laundering. It was unclear whether Grenada's decision to suspend the economic
citizenship program was related to the blacklisting.

Officials say the suspension will cost the island between $1.8 million and $2.2 million yearly

1.0 out of 5 stars Faulty Information?, July 12, 2002

This review is from: Choose Grenada for Your Second Citizenship and Passport (Paperback)
Apparently the author has lived abroad too long. On page one he states: "A child born in the U.S., for example, is a U.S. citizen even if both of his parents are illegal immigrants." Not only is this untrue, a baby born to LEGAL immigrants isn't automatically granted citizenship. The rules changed long before the publishing of this book--the author should verify his facts. I can't help but wonder if the whole book isn't fully of erroneous information (I only read the first ten pages, which are available at the publishers site).
