Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Can we choose, for example, not to get cancer, the common cold, neuroses, or hemorrhoids? Jones says we can, but, as her prescriptions imply, it's not easy. Drawing on the widsom of Hippocrates, Ralph Waldo Emerson and Dale Carnegie as well as on medical studies about health and the emotions and her 15 years' experience as a UCLA fitness instructor, Jones presents a panorama of New Age concepts that are arguably bases for a revolution in medicine. In a lively and personal style, she discusses nutrition, exercise, meditation and positive visualization, clearly explaining her theory of wellness, its benefits, how to do it and where to learn more. Her salient point: that a positive spirit is essential to good health. In the manner of Dyer (Your Erroneous Zones), she urges us to be more childlike, to get in touch with our inner selves and reasons for living, and to celebrate life.

This review is from: Choose to Be Healthy (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this book. I have read a number of books by Susan Smith Jones, and have learned a lot about a healthy and fulfilled lifestyle from them. It was the kind of book that you could read a little bit at a time, set it down, and pick it back up a few days later.
