This little book is a gem which makes for an ideal gift for somebody you want to introduce to the Course. It's selections show the beauty and wisdom of the Course in a Reader's Digest format. Well suited for meditations or a review of some of the highlights of the Course. In no way can it replace the study of the Course itself.

I am writing this on a Monday and in approximately two hours I will be at the local metaphysical book and gift shop guiding a wonderful group of people in the study of A Course in Miracles. There are times...many times when my ego likes to remind how there are so many other people in the group that I am guiding that are "better suited" to lead. That my "expertise in this particular area is severely lacking in many ways..."

And then I open up this little wonder of a book and I read:

"Father, I was mistaken in myself,
because I failed to realize the Source
from which I came. I have not left that Source
to enter in a body and to die.

My holiness remains a part of me,
as I am part of You. And my mistakes
about myself are dreams. I let them go today.
And I stand ready to receive Your Word alone for what I really am."

I've done the "born again Christian/Fundamentalist thing. I've even done the Atheist thing and there might be a few of you who might be thinking that I am just more than a little confused as to what I believe. But like I once answered a young Christian who asked me if I believed in God when I didn't repond "appropriately" to his B.S (Belief System) about God, Heaven, salvation, and of course, hell; "No, I don't believe in God, I KNOW there is God."

And this book helps me know this One Infinite Source even more. It's not the words of the Course that have lead me to this knowing, but the deep meditations that I've gone into after assimilating such beautiful jewels of Truth. For Instance:

"You are healed when you give healing.
You accept forgiveness in yourself when you forgive.
You recognize your brother as yourself,
and thus do you perceive that you are whole.

There is no miracle that you cannot give, for all are given you.
Receive them now by opening the storehouse of your mind
where they are laid, and giving them away..."

Y'see, we are not bound to our past choices...even if that choice was made a few moments again...we are always free to choose again. There are some who say that such talk as being One with God is blasphemous and even heretical. I believe they once said that about a certain child of a lowly carpenter. We are all called to do God's work and what is in front of us is the work we need to attend to - not out of despair and frustration but out of a joyous knowing that "I and the Father are One"...in Truth, there is only the One.

You were guided to this page for a reason. Are you seriously going to refuse the call or you ready to move to an even Higher Level of Being who you really are?

This book of will help guide you into a deep state of remembering that your true function is to bless and be a blessing. Afterall, if you aren't going to do your part, who will?

Well, I'm off to my class. I'm sure I will do some things this evening that will be misconstrued as "imperfect" but leave it to God to put the Perfect in the Imperfect.

This is an excellent little book to have if you just want a collection of the more poetic and prayerful selections from A Course in Miracles. Various selections are grouped together based on a themes, such as forgiveness etc. Makes a great gift for anyone who feels a connection with the basic ideas of A Course in Miracles.
