Edit: I was angry when I wrote this review and acted like a complete and utter jerk. Thank you Karen for responding so professionally in the face of an unreasonable customer (me). I'm leaving the review intact but I apologize for my unkindness towards the author.

I can hardly believe that there are (at the time of writing) three 5-star ratings for this miserable excuse of a book. Amazon says this $12 "book" is 86 pages long. It is actually 77 and a good portion of that is taken up by a "Hot Products List" that the author admits is not only outdated, but freely available by going to Amazon.com. Yes, she actually printed out the Amazon.com's Best-Sellers list for each product category. So that brings down the content of the book to 54 pages.

In those short 54 pages the author will try to convince you that she has figured out a 4-point formula for successful online product selection. Did you know that the cost of a product factors into successfully choosing something to sell?? Mind-blowing I know--or perhaps that the product should be "compatible" with you? One of my favorite tips in the entire book is the author's suggestion that, if you pick a product that is "compatible" with you (e.g. one that you like) at least you can still use it if it doesn't sell.

It was painful getting through this book, not only because of the complete lack of anything valuable the author has to say, but also because of the author's inability to write well. The book is neither captivating nor informative. The only saving grace of this book is that Amazon knew how crappy it was and didn't even ask me to ship it back when I requested a refund.

Karen Brown's Choosing What to Sell Online is just what I have been looking for. Every so often I wonder what I could sell online to make money. Despite numerous googles over the months, I never found a reference that really answered my question, until I found this book.

Product selection is the key to online success and this is what Ms. Brown tells you how to accomplish. Her four step formula for identifying products which will work for YOU is a must read. She stresses that the product and you must be a fit and she tells you what criteria are important in finding a fit. In fact, her process ensures a fit will happen.

Too many people start with a product idea and then try to make everything work around that; then they find that they can't sell it at a profit. This book ensures you don't make that mistake by "backing" you into a product which is sure to work for you.

Brown also provides some basic accounting formulas which will tell you in advance whether your idea is a "go or no-go". And she does a good bit of leg work for you by analyzing and identifying top sellers in numerous categories.

For anyone who thinks that selling online would be a way to make extra money, or a full-time income, this book is a must have for that crucial initial decision: What to sell.

The author does a good job explaining what and how to sell on Amazon. She provides a lot of examples from her personal experiences and doesn't sugar coat the challenges associated with being a seller. The book also has a healthy dose of you-can-do-it, cheering-you-on, comments throughout, which is probably a good thing for would-be sellers wanting to make a go of it alone. I particularly liked the section of the book that listed the categories for selling and their rankings in terms of sales on Amazon. The ambitious and excited individual can read this book in just a few hours and be well equipped to get started right away. This is also a good book to add the entrepreneur's library.

I am both proud and honored to be able to recommend this book by Karen Brown. As I am reading people are poppping in my head that I wanted to share this amazing publication with. My children included. I have been in business of some kind from home for over 31 years, and self-employed for the last 20. My early career was managing multi-million dollar annual business, that required detail and profits. Karen outlines a system, that when used, works specifically for each individual, as we all have personal likes and dislikes, and system still maintains the integrity of profit for all. You will not have to guess how to make money after reading this, just execute the plan and follow the system
you wish to implement. Dr. Mike Fitzpatrick, author of The Street Smart Millionaire

It is useful tool in any kitchen. I am not sure about how precise the measurements are but it is good for having the idea of the portion sizes when on a diet. I am satisfied and I will recommend it.
