I bought this for my brother who was 5 at the time. He absolutely loves it! All his friends (boys and girls) play with it when they come over. It's really cool that you can "carve" it with the knife. I love toys like this because they are durable and allow imagination play. If you have a child to buy for that likes to "cook" or pretend play, this is a safe bet!

I know some people are taken aback by this toy, but I wasn't and neither were my children. They love it! We pretend it's both chicken and/or turkey and really lets the kids feel like they're really cooking! it's one of their most played with toys in the kitcen and is very durable which is a necessity with my 2 and 4 year olds!

I guess I didn't read the size dimensions when I ordered this but I was surprised at how small it was upon opening it...since it was fairly expensive for a single item. Having said that, it is played with a lot by the kids and is "original" where it can be chopped and cut up. Even though it's small, it's virtually indestructable and the size works well for children. I think the price should be a little lower but again, it's a nice addition to our play kitchen...and part of our healthy cooking.
