Many songs from the movies are just plain great. Particular standouts are "At the ballet", "I can do that" which are sung as musical solos, while "One" is a good chorus number that is also very well depicted in the movie which you can get a chance to see it.

A Chorus Line is your typical 1980's feel good musical, nothing special nothing amazing but good old hoofer work. The star of the show is very much the music and the most memorable song is One. This was one fo the films that opened the road for Mamma Mia, only this show has original songs not based around Abba's fine music. If you like that 1980's Fame/All that Jazz/Flashdance kind off movie/soundtrack then this will be a good addition for your collection. It's also a good album for your daughters at dance school to have in their collection.

At one time, A Chorus Line was one of the longest running shows on Broadway, and with good reason... It was (is) an exceptionally good and fresh experience. Unfortunately for the movie, the almost cultish following it created refused to accept the screen adaptation of the same. As the saying goes, people fear change.

This hatred/fear can be found in reviews of this Soundtrack as well. Yes, one or two songs have changed from the Broadway Show, some for the Better (Surprise vs. Gimme the Ball) and some not (The Music and The Mirror vs Let Me Dance for You), but the theme, the spirit and the toe tapping spirit of the music is still there and is simply put... fun to listen to.
