5.0 out of 5 stars BOOT CAMP IS BACK!
well, i must say i have been anticipating this album for a while, and even though things werent that loud from Duck Down Records for a couple years, they break the silence considerably well with this release. The album starts off with an intro and sets the mood for the whole album, which is for all the haters, doubters, fair wheather fans, wack djs, wack mc's, radios...

3.0 out of 5 stars This is the BCC and Double D...
Boot Camp Clik have some of the most underappreciated mc's in the game and on their own have brought out some classic albums, but they just don't make that classic BCC sound when they are all together.

well, i must say i have been anticipating this album for a while, and even though things werent that loud from Duck Down Records for a couple years, they break the silence considerably well with this release. The album starts off with an intro and sets the mood for the whole album, which is for all the haters, doubters, fair wheather fans, wack djs, wack mc's, radios that dont support true hip hop, record companies that have cheated them in the past and those that are too afraid to sign people with real talent to eat a fat veiny one! Seems the purpose of this album is to prove everyone wrong and after u hear it u can tell they will. I feel the more i listen to it, the more it will become classic BCC material like their past releases. My favorite tracks are Had it up 2 here, And So, Whoop His A**, and Thats Tough. I really like the rest of the tracks. ALthough I was hoping for a better beat from Hi-Tek, the MC's saved the song (Ice Skate). Thats the only track that i feel hasnt grown on me yet, other than that i consider this another hip hop classic and give it a solid 9 out of 10 and a must have for old, and new fans, or just for people who want to listen to some good, real, catchy, phat hip hop.

The BCC is back again, but this time narrowed down to 7 guys.It turns out that Rock (of Heltah Skeltah) is out but it's almost more of a blessing in disguise than it seems. The remaining members really pull together to give BCC fans what they've always wanted.Unlike their last group effort where songs with the whole posse seemed scarce, on the new one every member of the crew is practically on every song.Ruck reigns supreme over the rest of the camp and you realize this guy don't need Rock as his partner no more(Sean Price solo album MONKEY BARS comin' soon). Buckshot & Steele(of smif n wessun) step it up a notch lyrically compared to recent efforts.Top Dog (of O.G.C.) is also holding it down nicely for a majority of the album.Another step up with this album is in the beat making department. They got ALCHEMIST,Hi Tek,Curt Cazel laces "And So", and they link back up with the Beatminerz who have also been making heaters for none other than KRS One (Ova Here) & Krumbsnatcha (Closer to god pt.2)as of late. Overall I feel the group has elevated there styles lyrically and they got some of the best behind the boards.Don't sleep.

5.0 out of 5 stars BCC strike back with vengance!, October 18, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Chosen Few (Audio CD)
Its been 3 years since Duck Down Records released an album. The wait was over on October 8th with this album the Chosen Few by The Boot Camp Clik. The album featured Buckshot of Black Moon, Tek N Steele from Smif N Wessun aka Cocoa Brovaz, Sean Price aka Ruck from Heltah Skeltah and OGC(Starang Wondah, Louieville Sluggah, Top Dog. The album also features Supreme of the Repz, Illa Noyz, Jahdan and Scratch from the Roots. On the lyrical stand point everybody on mic hold it down.

They all stepped they game up because they had a lot to prove especially Top Dog and Louieville because people were saying they were the weak links of the BCC. Buckshot put the critics/haters to rest with his performance. Tek N Steele, Sean P and Starang all represented like they always have. Production comes from The Alchemist, Beatminerz, Baby Paul, Hi-Tek, Bink, Curt Cazel, Coalition, Coptic Sounds, Ty Dezal.

The flow and blend of the album has a little bit for everybody to digg. From hardcore boot camp fans to new people who never heard of the clik before. So copped this joint and expand with WWBCC, you wont be disappointed you did. Hit up Duckdown.com or Bucktownusa.com if you want the lastest info about the BCC.

PS. All the heads asking where Rock is? All the members of the BCC wanted him on the album. Rock could of been on this album, but he chose not to be on it because he wanted to concentrate on his solo career and side projects. Check out...for more about Rock!

its been a long time but it was worth the waiting.the new bcc album is hot to death.they come back even harder this time with their 2nd lp as a group.the production includes alchemist(lets get downw to business)hi-tek(ice skate) and beatminerz produced 3 ill tracks.its a must buy and by large the best album in 2002 in my eyes.my favourite tracks are "and so", "welcome to bucktown usa","had it up to here" and "think back".the hi-teks beat is also remarkable being a club banger for sure."Buckshot" and "Starang Wondah" are my favourite rappers in this album.BELIEVE me and go buy this album right away and this of course if you are a REAL HIPHOP HEAD!!!BIG UP BROOKLYN IS HOTTER THAN EVER!!!

Simply put, if you are tired of listening to the same old garbage_pail_kid_mc's ... talkin about their bullsh!t_bank_rolls .. iced_bentleys .. and fly_b!tches... then PICK UP THIS ALBUM. The BCC brings the hip hop world back to reality.. spittin lyrics that relate to the everyman's daily struggles, hustles, trials and tribulations.

The MC's all represent with hot lyrics showcasing not only years of finely tuned lyricism.. but also the emotion of the streets.

If you are sleeping on this album... be ashamed of yaself.

This is grown man sh!t.

5.0 out of 5 stars BCC back with a triumphant return!!, March 12, 2003

This review is from: Chosen Few (Audio CD)
From the first time I gave this album a spin, I was into it. By the time I was finished and the music was over, my head was still noddin' to the tracks I just heard. Especially the first song "And So", which displays a melodic gituar loop and thundering basline, a great way to begin a comeback album. For those who did no get a chance to hear any of Duckdown's music since For The People, it is like there wasn't even a layoff between albums. All of the MC's rep righteously on the album, especially Buck and Ruck. The beats are mad hot, with the Beatminerz leading the way. Other standouts on the album are the Alchemist produced Let's Get Down to Bizness, Ice Skate, the interestin Daddy Wanna, and the Beatminerz special Had it Up To Here. If you were into Duckdown's music in the 90's, then you will certainly love this joint. Best believe the BCC and Duckdown are here to stay, go get The Chosen Few and continue to support their work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Boot Camp Material, October 10, 2002
By
A.Rooz (Helsinki Finland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Chosen Few (Audio CD)
I just got this album and I got to say it's gonna be one of the best rap releases this year.

1.Intro
Nice intro hittin the doubter and haters strait in the face. Some funny self irony also included

2. And So
Classic Boot Camp stuff..nuff said
Nice vocal sample combined with heavy drums and all the mc's reppin lovely.

3. Let's Get Down 2 Bizness
A dope beat from Alchemist. BCC members + Illanoyz let the industry snakes know what's up.

4. Let's Roll
A bouncy track that one wouldn't say it's the usual BCC sound.
Louieville spits fire on this cut.

5. WTBTU
Wellcome to Bucktown USA..I think Coptic Sounds produced the beat and it's really nice. One of my favourites on this album. Supreme of the Representativz get's serious on this Brooklyn anthem.

6. That's Tough
A real riot starter track. The beat is ridiculous and the MCs
spit humoriously about material things that are hot and whatnot
"Dressed in sweatpants, head bands/ called Dru to collect my advance..hit the club up, bouncers tight shirts look cut up/ whut up/ Will in the house, spark pot up" - Starang

7. Whateva skit
This stuff is strait comedy. The skit picks on Ja Rule, Mase etc and all the boot leggers and mixtape sellers.

8. Had It Up 2 Here
Boot Campian Champians let out some steam about other mc's, A&Rs and fans acting up and talking bad about BCC..The beat is banging. This is one of the hottest songs on The Chosen Few.

9. Whoop His ...
If you wanna get ya adrenaline up and beat some serious ... listen to this track. Black Smif N Wessun rip the mic and Rufus Blaq does the hook.

10. Daddy Wanna
Baby Mama drama and some children raising stuff. Starang and Ruck just makes you laugh out loud.

11. Ice Skate
RnB hook and Hi Tek on the beat..? Boot Camp?? Hell yeah. The beat and the RnB hook make this joint sound like a club banger but even so the rappers keep it street.

12. Just Us
Laid back song about strugglin in the every day life, rap game and just hangin out with ya fam. Cool track!!

13. Think Back
This is the BCC version of Nas' Memory Lane.
"1981, the year rap begun/ the first time I saw a back was spun.." Buckshot gives you a glance of what hip hop was back then. Also Tek takes you back with a funny line: "The badest chick on skin flicks was Heather Hunter"

14. The Chosen Few
Another classic posse cut in the hip hop history.
The album holds the accustomed BCC vibe thru out the 15 tracks but this is definately the one that reminds you why you love the Camp. A beatiful track.

15. Words From Tek
A touching outro by Tek over the Chosen Few beat.
"Tell em I'm the quiet birds that circle in flight/
the brigh star that shine all thru the night/"
