5.0 out of 5 stars You Might Think " For The Chosen Few"...
But this is "For the Chosen, Who" have the appreciation for the blues in them. One play of this CD, and it has grabbed you. You play it again, thinking, "hey, that was pretty good, especially tracks x and y and z. Play it again, and all of a sudden, track P and Q have this Boogie that sneaks up on you, that you start humming and tapping, and need to hear again...

3.0 out of 5 stars Rod Piazza And The Mighty Flyers - Good, But They Have Done Better
Piazza delivers another collection of harmonica driven boogie woogie blues on "For The Chosen Who". He also invites several special guests along for the ride. I am not sure exactly why, but this album does not grab me the way that some of Rod's best albums often do. The material here is good, and the performances are up to Piazza and the Flyers usual standards, but...

My favorites:

Honey's Blues ( This is so good. They really have my number on this one.)
Got To Find My Baby (Rod and Johnny Dyer)...great together
I'm A Love You
Broken Hearted Blues
Shoestring
Description Of A Fool
Trace Of You

Not bad when you get a lot of favorites from one CD. I like the other one's too, only they can't all be favorites.

Check out the awesome DVD they made at Chico California's Sierra Nevada Brewery called "Big Blues Party"...almost as good as LIVE.

In this era of flash in the pans and Stevie Ray wanna be's it is extremesly refreshing when a staright ahead blues disc like this comes out. Piazza and the outstanding musicians on this disc and DVD have created a masterpeice of blues. You can just feel the love they have for making this music oozing out of the CD. The DVD shows what a blast they had making it. Piazza, his wife Honey, and The Mighty Flyers just keep getting better as time goes by.If you don't love this disc, you don't love real blues. Catch them live if you can, they are even better in concert!

5.0 out of 5 stars for the chosen who, January 22, 2008
For the Blues enthusiast-very good. Rod Piazza was unknown to me until I heard a tune on Cable's Blues listening station, figured I would give his CD a try. It was worth the price.

I am not sure exactly why, but this album does not grab me the way that some of Rod's best albums often do. The material here is good, and the performances are up to Piazza and the Flyers usual standards, but overall this one just does not connect that well with me. For me recent albums like "Soul Monster" and "Keeping It Real" are a step above this one. Again, I am not sure that I can really qualify this statement with anything specific, but it is just the way my ear hears the material. "Chosen Who" is a solid album and worth adding to your Piazza collection, but there are other albums that I would choose before this one.
