Well-made, great for French toddler vocab, January 31, 2011
This review is from: T Choupi a Peur de L Orage (French Edition) (Hardcover)
I borrowed this book from my 3-year-old's French teacher and we love it! It's short, which makes it perfect for pre-nap or bedtime reading. I love the glossy pages, which are harder to tear and easy to wipe. And it's an easily accessible topic for 2-4 year olds--being afraid of a thunderstorm. The T'choupi books are great, because they're filled with toddler French vocabulary that is easy to integrate into your everyday life.
A quick, English version of the story: T'choupi is excited at dinner. Mama is fed up and tells him to calm down and finish his dinner. 'It's bedtime,' she says. 'If you don't go to bed now, you'll be sleepy tomorrow.' T'choupi goes to bed, but begins to hear thunder. He covers his ears and calls to his mom and dad: 'I'm afraid!' His dad comes to reassure him and shows him the lightning in the sky. T'choupi is reassured and squeezes his teddy bear in his arms, telling him 'Don't be afraid, Doudou. It's just thunder.'
