A wonderful clinically oriented book,
By
This review is from: Chou's Electrocardiography in Clinical Practice: Adult and Pediatric, 6e (Hardcover)
I am a second-year resident in internal medicine in Italy, and I have read many ECG books. This has soon become my reference. It is an advanced, complete, and very practical book: the pathophisiology and electrophisiology are limited to what is really needed to understand the clinical implications, and the ECG is appropriately considered to be only a part of the clinical investigation. The authors seems to be people that go around the wards, and not cardiologists who sit in their office reading ECGs without any contact with the real world. I have particularly appreciated two sections. The first is the one on ischemia, in which each ECG is completed with the description of the echocardiogram and the angiography of the same patient. The second is the one on electrolyte's and drug's effect on the ECG. I have always found this one to be a terrible subject, and I was surprised to find a well written and interesting chapter.

This is a terrific book. Easy to understand and very well organized. It is a must for students and teachers. It is worth the money.

Excellent for in-depth review of ECGs,
This review is from: Chou's Electrocardiography in Clinical Practice: Adult and Pediatric, 6e (Hardcover)
The best book for in-depth interpretation of ECGs, most useful for cardiology fellows and cardiologists. Clinical and evidence-based correlations are well stated. EP correlations are well explained. Criteria for every ECG abnormality you may think of are very well detailed and clarified, with citation of clinical and epidemiologic studies.Better than MArriot's book. If you are looking for a summarized yet decent approach to ECG reading with nice ECG tests and examples, then "Cardiology handbook for clinicians" by Hanna (which also has a decent and thorough review of clinical cardiology), and "Complete ECG guide" by OKeefe are appropriate options.

Great book. Many of the "unpublished" statements raise the concern as to the veracity and clinical relevance of these data. The old Friedman and Schamroth text though are very good and complement this text. I still prefer this text over the old Marriot's although I haven't read the new Marriot.

EKG review,
This review is from: Chou's Electrocardiography in Clinical Practice: Adult and Pediatric, 6e (Hardcover)
I think this is an excellent book for anyone interested in the interpretation of EKG's. It may be a little advanced for medical students but I think residents and fellows would benefit from at least reading a few of the chapters. The ones on ST elevations especially are good. This is definitely not a book that you can read in one sitting, however I think if you tackle it a little bit at a time it's definitely manageable.

Book is in good condition. There was a bit of a delay receiving the book, but it was very nice to get it in the new-like condition in which it arrived.
