I own a few of Mrs. Nicholas' books and this one is my favorite, even though I don't actually own a chow. This is a great book for anyone interested in the history of the breed. The detail is amazing; definitely not a generic, cookie cutter book. Mrs. Nicholas gives great information on the history of the breed in various countries and names some of the successful kennels at the time. The pictures are also wonderful considering how old this book is. I would recommend this book to anyone possibly interested in adding a chow to their family.
