Book Description

April 1, 2005
A must-read for the married and those considering marriage! This guidebook to finding a happy marriage, keeping a happy marriage, and raising happy children has been out of print for over 50 years...until now! From the master of the spiritual life, Raoul Plus, S.J., it contains loads of practical and spiritual advice on family life. Have you been looking for a handbook on marriage and raising children that is based on truth? You've found it! "A home ruled by the spirit of Christ is a happy home. It is also a school of virtue directed to spiritual transformation in Christ. But Christ does not force His entry into a home. He enters only by invitation. He remains only when evidently welcome. It is the wise bride and groom who let Him know by their spiritual preparation for marriage that they want Him to accompany them from the altar of their vows into the home they are about to establish. It is the wise husband and wife who let Him know they want Him always present by striving to put on His mind and to establish their family according to His principles. In such a home, husband and wife and children will enjoy gladness of heart, happiness in the fulfilment of duty, and intense union of souls." — from the preface of the book

Father Plus, a reknowned Priest and Writer, gaurantees solid, practical, down-to-earth, Christian guidance for families throughout this book.
My wife and I have been married for over 5 and half years, with 3 wonderful children, and Christ In The Home still provides concrete counselling and guidance in our roles as Father / Husband and Mother / Wife.
Whether you are already married or considering marriage, this book is a *must* read, regardless of religious denomination.
Read, understand, and practice the guidance provided in Christ In The Home for a smoother and more peaceful marriage, family, and home.
This book provides such outstanding, difficult to find, practical insight and guidance, we've purchased multiple copies with the intent of giving as wedding gifts to newlyweds, in addition to keeping a copy for our personal library!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Advice, July 31, 2005
By
Rebecca (Colorado Springs, CO) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Christ in the Home (Paperback)
We are expecting our first child, I skipped right to the chapters on child rearing and found Father Plus' advice to be very down to earth, sensible, and reassuring. I'd like to be able to raise our child like we were raised 30 years ago. Despite all the new psychology, sometimes tried and true common sense child rearing should work and this book does a great job of presenting the common sense and respectful approach.

I am not a Catholic, and I think this book has wonderful advice and wisdom to share with all regardless of your religion.

Great book, thanks!

5.0 out of 5 stars a MUST for any Catholic's library, June 17, 2005
This review is from: Christ in the Home (Paperback)
As a newlywed, I have gained a wonderfully new perspective on marriage and family life from this book "Christ in the Home," by Father Raoul Plus. In very simple, yet profound ways, Father Plus addresses the expected and unexpected aspects of marriage - from the mundane to the profound. He surprised me with his insight into the sprirtual and psychological adjustments couples must make to have a happy marriage - one that has Christ as it's core. This is one book every Catholic - married or single - should keep in his library.
