yet another album of greatness from the metal god phil anselmo...filled with hate beginning to end...do not listen to when around family members...you may get the sudden urge to kill them, eat them, all while sacrificing your first born to satan...

EVIL!!,
By Drew "HAIL METAL" (New Orleans) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Christ Inversion (Audio CD)
Let me start off by saying that Christ Inversion is a very underrated black metal band that will kick your teeth down your throat when you listen to it. This album is the remastered '94 demo version of Obey the Will of Hell featuring the master Phil Anselmo (Pantera, Down, Superjoint Ritual, Viking Crown, Southern Isolation, Body and Blood, Enoch, Necrophagia, Arson Anthem) on guitar with Wayne Fabra (Necrophagia) on vocals, Kevin Bond (Superjoint Ritual) on the other axe..Tommy Buckley(Soilent Green, Crowbar) on the drums..Jay Gracianette on the bass and Big Ross (Down, Drip, Southern Isolation, House of Shock) on the keyboards. This album, is heavy, in your face, blasphemous and intense throughout. With devastating guitar riffs, crushing drums and diabolical vocals, this albums promises to be brutal as all hell. It's different from any other black metal album you have ever heard. There are no constant blast beats or never ending riffs that seem to go on forever. The music is still some of the heaviest material anyone could ever encounter when your looking for great, original, heavy, evil New Orleans style black metal. Pick this up and get ready to start banging your head constantly because this album is non stop aggression and blasphemy. And get ready for CI's other remastered album coming soon entitled "13th Century Luciferian Rites"!!

I love this album. Its grainy atmosphere is quite dark. Vocals are sometimes hard to understand, and the music is very heavy. I would recommend listening to this with a good pair of headphones. If you really enjoy Phil Anselmo's work. I strongly recommend this!
