This review is from: Children's Christian Songbook (Easy Guitar with Notes & Tab) (Paperback)
I teach choir at my church for 4 and 5 year olds and this book is wonderful! It is filled with great songs that are fun, inspirational and easy to learn! I recommended this book to all who want to learn songs that their kids will be singing and enjoying for years to come.

I started playing mandolin about a year ago and got a fakebook with a bunch of classic songs. It included several hymns and children's songs, including Jesus Loves Me and He's Got the Whole World in His Hands. I learned these and decided to use my skills to play along and sing with the kids in the 2 and 3 year olds Sunday school class (they didn't know I was a lousy mandolin player!). The kids really liked it and had some requests for other songs. I searched the Internet and found this book on Amazon. When I got it, I was really happy with the content. It's got almost every song you'd sing in a traditional Sunday school class, and even a few non-traditional :) It says its for piano/vocal/guitar but you can think of it as a Fakebook Deluxe. It's got the lyrics, chords (with guitar fingering chart for each), melody line (treble clef), and piano treble/bass clef. There's enough musical information there for any instrument to play simple melody, chords, or something more creative.
If you're working with Sunday school kids (or any group of Christian kids) and need some music, I'd really recommend this one.

Pretty good book. As I am a beginner guitar player some of the songs are more advanced than I. But it is a good buy.

Singing a Happy song,
By Live Lightly "Bonnie" (Indiana) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Christian Children's Songbook (Paperback)
This is a wonderful book to use with children. I just finished a music session with kindergarten children...and they LOVE to sing these songs. I introduce a couple songs at a time...and within minutes the children are singing along very well. If you want to give your children meaningful music experience....take a look at this book!

This is a great book. I have had about a dozen lessons as an adult, so the easy music is perfect. All my favorite songs are included and I know all of the rest of them. Sometimes when I order music books, I get a couple songs I know and all the rest, I don't even recognize!

This is a great book for children's ministries. Very useable and a nice size. I guess I would prefer a spiral bound or loose leaf, that would stay flat on the keyboard or piano.

This is exactly what I was looking for: a very good collection of songs for young children at church, with guitar chords, and well arranged piano part (not too complicated -- just the essential harmony notes and rhythm).

Songs are more for younger kids. Also, many duplicated songs from books we already had or from the hymnal.

My Kids Love To Get Their Praise On,

I bought this book three years ago at a bookstore in Indianapolis for probably twice what Amazon is selling it. Although I now realize I could have bought this book for much cheaper, I am still glad I made the purchase. We often get the songbook out during our family devotionals in the evenings. Our girls (ages 4 and 7) prefer selecting from their 101 songs as opposed to the Baptist Hymnal. :-) Although my wife plays the guitar a little, we mostly use the book as I play the recorder. My oldest daughter is seven and is currently taking piano lessons. I am hoping one day we will sing the songs from this book as she plays the piano.

I highly recommend this songbook for children choir. The songs arrangement are easy to follow. In addition, the choice of songs are well thoughtout.
