5.0 out of 5 stars An ongoing pick for any serious Christian library, November 13, 2009
This review is from: The Christian Future and the Fate of Earth (Ecology and Justice) (Hardcover)
Mary Evelyn Tucker and John Grim edit The Christian Future and the Fate of Earth, a fine guide to Thomas Berry's reflections on Christianity and the environmental crisis. From the interrelatedness of the Earth community to a Christian thinker's concern over the Earth's situation, this offers some powerful connections between religion and the environment and is an ongoing pick for any serious Christian library.

4.0 out of 5 stars Book review, September 26, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Christian Future and the Fate of Earth (Ecology and Justice) (Hardcover)
The Christian Future and the Fate of Earth is a thin, well developed and complex book. The book should be considered if you have time and background to slowly study the contents. If you are used to reading a book once and putting it aside, this is probably not for you. To fully comprehend this book, you will need to read it two or more times and with each reading additional insights are obtained. This is a cerebal project and not a beach speed read. You may want to consider forming a study group and and develop collective understanding building upon a team concept. With time and a little (lots) of effort, this book is a great addition to your knowledge and understanding of how Christians have a great responsibility for moral and spiritual as well as to the world community.

This review is from: The Christian Future and the Fate of Earth (Ecology and Justice) (Hardcover)
The Christian Future and the Fate of Earth provides for us a guide into the future where humans can learn to live with all other species in peace and harmony. Thomas Berry helps us to know the story of the Universe and our story as One. He invites us to recognize our place in the Universe as one species among many, each having a role to play. These writings, edited by Mary Evelyn Tucker and John Grimm, provide for us a way to create and live into a sustainable future. Highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Earth Can Get Along Without Us Humans, March 25, 2010

This review is from: The Christian Future and the Fate of Earth (Ecology and Justice) (Hardcover)
These 10 essays by Thomas Berry gave urgent messages 20-30 years ago. They are still pertinent and poignant, and call us to an immediate response, for the sake of our dear Earth.

Most of the Berry selections I have read and studied before, but it it always good to review them. Then there is a lot of new material for me too. I hang on every phrase and paragraph.
