This book is incredible! If you want to know a great book on the history of the Constitution, and well as some good history on the United States, this is for you. The library of books from the Foundation for American Christian Education [...] is outstanding.

If you are raising a family, homeschooling, or starting a church, this (with its accompanying books) is a must have/must read.

A previous review should not reflect badly on this book; it is worth the time and the money (although both the cost and the time it would take to read it is considerable)!

It's always interesting to me when people don't read a book, but are compelled to draw things out of thin air and present them as if they are all wise and knowing, therefore it must be right. CHOC is one of the most documented books you will ever find about the founding of this country, and it's Christian Roots. It has a companion book by Rosalie Slater entitled Teaching and Learning, so you can use it as a curriculum. The best thing about these books are that they use Primary Source documentation. They don't rely on the rumor mill of modern thinkers. Quotes are verbatim, some even in the difficult to read old english grammar and spelling. You will learn, if you read it, that our Christian forebears, who fled from State Churches, were not interested in setting up new state churches, but they were intently set on taking the governmental principles from Old and New Testament, and applying them into our laws, things such as Representative government, consent of the governed, protection of property, protected rights for all, liberty under the law. There was no force feeding required, because it was not in the character of God, it should not be in our character. You, if you read it, will be refreshed by a past that has been taken from us, and hopefully, if you read it, you will be favorably changed in your perspective about who we are as a country, and what is still left to be done for freedom in the world. Get it, and read it.

What a wonderful and well written resource. I wish I would have had this kind of history education when I went to school! I am learning truths that were never taught or glossed over. I recommend this to anyone who is interested in the REAL history of the U.S.

This is a well documented, well written book on The History of the American Constitution and the events leading up to the writing of the Constitution. It gives clear insite as to what was really going on in the Colonies at the time. This book should be required reading for all high school students. It is not politically correct though so it will never make it. I am happy to find there are more books by the same author and am looking forward to reading them as well.

Our country was not founded on conservative Christian ideals at all. The two documents upon which our country was actually founded -- i.e., the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States -- contain not a word about Christianity, Christian principles, the Bible or Jesus Christ. Neither is there any mention of the Ten Commandments, heaven, prayer or being saved.

In 1797, the Treaty of Tripoli, negotiated by none other than George Washington, declared that "the government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion." Congress unanimously approved the text of this treaty, and John Adams signed it.

Mandatory church affiliation, among other factors, led to the establishment of the term a "wall of separation between church and state," allowing, at each citizen's discretion, freedom of religion or freedom from religion.

The phrase "under God" was added to the Pledge of Allegiance in 1954, and our national motto became "In God We Trust" in 1956 in response to USSRs' so-called "godless Communists." It is historically incorrect to claim that America was founded upon Christianity.

Indeed, it was quite the opposite.
