Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

This book provides a basic introduction to Christian meditation as a means of self-healing. It explains the rebirth of hope, the recovery of soul and a sense of meaning, and spiritual development. The author then considers specific forms of meditation, such as meditation on God in creation, meditation on scripture, the Jesus prayer, and centering prayer. The final chapter considers developing a spiritual practice, journal writing, working alone or with others, working with a group, gateways to spirituality, and discernment. This book is excellent for beginners, and is recommended especially for public libraries.

5.0 out of 5 stars Additional suggestions for Christians, August 7, 2005
This review is from: Christian Meditation & Inner (Paperback)
This book should include the following passages as well. It should include a part on fasting. Also, doing good deeds to repent, repair, and repay any bad deeds you've done in the past. Jesus said, if you love me, go out and spread the gospel to all people. Finally, it should state that the love of money is the root of all evil. It should say 1Tim 5:23, No more drink only water, but drink a little wine for your illnesses. Jesus said it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a wealthy man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Jesus is the way, the truth and the light. No one comes to God, but through Jesus.

And finally, if you want to verify this and learn even more, purchase a Christian Bible and a concordence at a Christian book store. Concordence is a word finder and can be used as a word study, and can be used to find words in the Bible, like: sickness, healing, love, death, evil, etc. When you look up the word you're interested in, in a concordence, it will give you places to go in the Bible by Chapters and verses, to find the wisdom of God on these subjects. This wisdom can be used to solve all the problems within your life.
