McCoy is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Oregon, an ordained clergyman in The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and serving as pastor of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Emmett, Idaho, and an author of "The Bestman, the Bride and the Wedding" (1998), "A Little One Amidst the Shadows" (1999), and "The Hunter, the Hound and a Rogue" (2000).
