Book Description

Christian Writer's Market Guide March 20, 2001
An annual book that continues to supply invaluable information

The Christian Writers' Market Guide 2001 is not only the most up-to-date marketing resource for Christian writers--it is the only one written exclusively for this specialized market. It includes over 1,200 potential markets (along with all the information needed to contact them), and tells you exactly what publishers are interested in what topics or types of books, articles or stories. In addition to the market listings, it is filled with unlimited resources to make the writer's life easier and more focused: greeting card/specialty markets; agents; writer's conferences and groups; editorial services; contests; market analysis; a listing of publishers and publications by denomination or corporate group; publisher's e-mail and Web sites; and a large section of resources for writers--many online. This guide has become indispensible to beginning and advanced writers, full-time freelancers, agents, editors, publishers, publicists, and writing classes.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Best Book Available For Christian Writers, December 22, 1998
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Four stars? Yup... 4.5 to be exact. A useful book, helping Christian and secular writers who want to be published in the Christian market. There is no other book which can serve the same needs.

Readers will be familiar with Writer's Digest's various guides, but they lack the comprensive breadth into denominational publications. Stuart has some questionable entries, and could be better organized, but by far the book you need.

Hopefully, it'll be available on disk, with a searchable database.

5.0 out of 5 stars AN ABSOLUTE NECESSITY!, October 14, 1998
By A Customer
Sally's cross-referencing (topical, denominational, etc.) makes finding just the right publisher as easy as it can be. Of course, no market guide can take the place of actually contacting publishers for guidelines and themes lists, but 'The Christian Writers Market Guide' is a great spring board for the writer who seeks to be published. Sally also offers excellent advice on approaching markets and her user-friendly glossary makes technical terms a breeze. Secular writers market guides in comparison, offer only a fraction of leads into the Christian publishing field. If you want to be published in any form of Christian literature, from novels to greeting cards, 'The Christian Writers Market Guide' is an absolute necessity.
