From Library Journal
This book is based on a lecture series designed to increase understanding of four of the world's great religions. In particular, theologian Kung and his colleagues, all professors in their respective disciplines, hope to make non-Christian religions accessible to Christians. For each tradition, four basic issues are presented (e.g., "Man and Salvation in Hindu Religions," "Jesus in the Qur'an") and background information given. Kung then provides an enlightening Christian response that is critical, self-critical, and mutually clarifying. The result is highly recommended to libraries for its forthrightness, honesty, and reflection of the best contemporary religious scholarship.
