5.0 out of 5 stars An awesome DVD for Christina fans! August 24, 2001
I've watched this DVD many times, and each time I discover a new awesome fact about Christina. Christina talks to you about her life, narrating the 84 min. video, and just gives you the feeling you really know her. This is very informative. It includes music videos for "Genie in a Bottle," "The Christmas Song," and "What a Girl Wants." Plus it shows her rehearsing in a studio, her and dancers hanging around, and who she is when she isn't performing. Many little home videos in it, too. This is defintly a must-see for everyone. Worth the money, it is terrific!

When I bought this video, I was expecting to see actual concert performances of the songs on the listing. To my horror, there were only a few edited concert footage and they were all dubbed with the music from the audio CD. For the other songs,it was worse. It was just Christina in the studio, singing to the microphone all the time with the exact sounds from the audio CD!!
Christina Aguilera, unlike some singers like Celine Dion (who sings live in the same way she sings on her CDs) , has a talent in improvising her songs during her live performances. This video should have featured her actual concert performances - undubbed and unedited! I am sure, in her live performances, she could come up with many new stylisations in her songs which alas, I did not hear much in this video. I did not buy the video expecting to hear the same sounds which I could have got from the audio CD.
The video is really only worth the two songs that are not found on the audio CD - At Last and The Christmas Song. I felt there wasn't much new nor surprising stuff here. As for the talk Christina gave on the video, it wasn't exactly inspiring either.
VERDICT: Borrow this video if you can.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great close-up of a very talented young artist! January 26, 2000
By Adam
Format:VHS Tape
This video is awsome! It really gets close-up with Christina. It shows how she simply adores her fans and loves her family. This young star will be around for a very very long time. Right when you watch her perform "At Last" and "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)" with just a piano you will see exactly what I mean.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for Christina fans July 13, 2003
if you're not one, then why would you watch it? Well, I'm getting used to the newer Christina now, but it's still nice watching her when she still had that teenie bopper look, one thing about her, if you look at her diary, you realize that she really hasn't changed a bit. She's grown much, but she's still really cute. This dvd consists of some songs from her 1st album, self-titled, including Genie In A Bottle, What A Girl Wants, When You Puts Your Hands On Me, I Turn To You(video wasn't released at the time) and So Emotional. They final product is put over the live so she can have different shots during the video, more stuff, less exciting. Also, the Etta James song she always sings, At Last, the only one that's live, crappy quality though, and The Christmas Song in a beatiful room with candles and a guy playing the piano. The dvd is 1 hour and 14 minutes long, almost as long as a short movie. We see her grow up as a child and learn many facts about her. She actually never had any singing lessons before she auditioned to Mickey Mouse which to me, is unbelievable. Amazing girl, with extrodinary vocal talents, buy this today!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Video! December 29, 1999
Format:VHS Tape
This is a great film. I bought this a few weeks before I watched it, and finally decided to watch it with my friend (Another fan of Ms. Aguilera). We were pleasantly surprised to find a wonderful mixture of Christina's life, music, and tours. A delightful souvenir for any fan of Christina and/or her music. A wonderful bonus is the beautiful poster (The picture on her latest single, What A Girl Wants) as well as her rendition of "Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire" near the end of the video. The full-length Genie In A Bottle video is also included. Well worth the price. A wonderful performer who does us Pittsburghers proud.

I was a bit disappointed because I thought this might be a concert, but was more of a backstory on her career with some videos. Not really my cup of tea.
