I read this book a thousand times it's so interesting!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Christina's Ghost (Paperback)
This book by Betty Ren Wright is marvelous. Everytime I read it I gasp at how interesting it is. It's about two girls who's parents went on a business trip to Alaska and planned to leave their kids at their grandmother's house, but their grandmother had a blatter attack and couldn't keep them. So Christina ends up going to her crabby Uncle Ralphs friend's cottage to work on his work. Christina's parents call throughout the story adn tell her to stay out of her uncles way and find something constructive to do. Christinna and her uncle end up solving a mystery that happened thirty years ago. The ghost in the attic does not want them to find his stamps that he stole thirty years ago so he warns them everytime they get close. I shouldn't tell you too much so you know all about it so go get this book from your local library and curl up with it anytime or anywhere.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Christina's Ghost (Hardcover)
The book Christina's Ghost is about a girl that goes with her uncle to a little house in the woods. She meets a ghost boy who only comes around when she laughs so she reads a riddle book. When she gets close to the end, something in the attic starts coming down stairs. My favorite part was when she was with her sister because I feel the same way when I'm with my sister. I recommend this book to people who like mystery and scary stories. It is scary at one part and it makes you want to look for the second book.By: Nicole

I love this book. I first heard it when I was in forth grade. My teacher had read it to us and I fell in love with it. I've read Christina's Ghost over 5 times. Even now as I get older I read it to my younger siblings. I'm not much into reading either and when I find a book I like you know it is good. This book will send you chills, but in a good way it is full of excitment and adventure. Read at leat once and I know you'll love it.

Christina's Ghost,

I think this is a really great book! Christina hated Uncle Ralph very much but she was forced to spend her holiday with him in a huge, creepy house in the woods. However, the house was haunted and Christina found a big secret in the house. She and Uncle Raplh worked together and discoverd the mystery. At last, they became good friends. I like this kind of happy ending very much! Moreover, this book is full horror and mysteries! I highly recommend this book to all of you!

A Pretty Good Ghost Mystery For Kids,
By A Customer
This review is from: Christina's Ghost (Paperback)
While her parents are away in Alaska, 10-year-old Christina Cooper is sent to live with her unpleasant Uncle Ralph in his old lakeside house, a place that looks haunted to Christina. And she's right. During her first day there, she sees a little boy in a sailor suit standing on the pier--and then the next minute he disappears. This is just the first of many appearances the ghost makes, and it's up to Christina to find out why he's still hanging around the old house. When I was younger, this was one of my favorite books, but after rereading it, I was a little disappointed. I had remembered "Christina's Ghost" being a scary ghost story, but it's more of a murder mystery than a horror story. In it, Christina must try to solve a 30-year-old double homicide over some stolen, valuable stamps so the young boy's soul can be put to rest. Not very exciting compared to an evil haunted house, but I don't think younger readers will really mind. Recommended for 9 to 12-year-olds.

This review is from: Christina's Ghost (Paperback)
My sister called me last night and asked me "What is the scariest book you ever read as a kid?" Didn't take me more than 1/2 a second to say 'Christina's Ghost'. I finished this book and promptly crawled into bed with my sister! The next day I gave her the book and told her she had to read it! Yeah, she crawled into my bed about a week later. Can't remember how old I was when I first read this book, but I am 32 right now! This book started me on my long line of horror novels and I will never forget the first time I had to sleep with the light on! The only other novel that had me do that was 'Salems Lot'!

A Good Ghost Story for Beginners,
By Speed Reader (Arkansas, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Christina's Ghost (Paperback)
This is an excellent first ghost story for readers 10 and up. Christina finds herself having to spend some time with her uncle, whom she barely knows, and she sets about entertaining herself. She soon realizes that she and her uncle are not the only ones in the cabin and she is determined to find out what is going on.There are several suspenseful and on the edge of your seat scenes but not so over the top that it is too much. |
