3.0 out of 5 stars A solid package.
The sound is unmistakable, but make no mistake, this a solid collection. Certainly the pop stuff like 'I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus' will be the most familiar, but Frankie Valli and the gang show their vocal chops on 'Carol of the Bells' and "Joy to the World Medley', among others.***

This is, unequivocally, one of the most enjoyable Christmas albums ever produced by a pop/rock outfit. The first seven tracks, which constituted side one of the old vinyl album, is for all practical purposes a Christmas symphony: It fuses together shorter and longer renditions of traditional Christmas songs (most being nonsecular), with appropriate orchestration and the Seasons' incomparable vocal magic. Check out Frankie's soaring falsetto over his bandmates' midrange harmonies on "Estelsis Deo"; it'll send chills down your spine. "What Child Is This" is a beauty, as a previous reviewer noted, and the other three group members get to shine on a cheerful take of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen." Too many little treasures here to list 'em all. The second half of the album is arranged a bit more conventionally: Six songs more spaced, with more straight pop instrumentation not unlike many of the early Seasons classics. Herein lie the two tracks which get played on the radio at Christmastime: "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" and "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town"--but equally notable is "Jungle Bells," a genuinely fun song that your kids'll go ga-ga over--and so will you! There's not much here in the way of liner notes, not surprising given the cd's very budget price--but really, the music's all the liner notes you need. We were out cruising in the snow the other night, and I turned a couple friends on to this album who had never heard it before, and they both loved it. Frankie, Mick, Tommy and the obscenely underrated talent Bob Gaudio produced a real slice of holiday magic on this album, and especially at this bargain basement price, you cannot and will not go wrong buying it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Christmas Wouldn't Be The Same Without This Album, January 3, 2005

My children grew up listening to this album. We always had to play this while we were trimming the tree. I had no idea that both of my children considered this album part of our "Christmas Tradition". I finally found it on CD and this year my daughter asked to borrow my CD for my 5 year old granddaughter. She fell in love with it. My son's 4 year old daughter begged to hear Jungle Bells over and over. Needless to say, I ordered both granddaughters a CD of their own. I'm quite sure their parents are enjoying it too.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Four Seasons Christmas L.P. (Seasons Greetings c1962), January 18, 2003

This is a great Christmas L.P. Everyone should own one. It has The Four Seasons at their musicly best. Frankie Valli's vocal rendition of "WHAT CHILD IS THIS" had got to be the smoothest version I've ever heard of that tune. It is just a shame that this song is never played on the radio during the holiday season.
... Buy it and I think you would agree that this Christmas L.P. is the GREATEST!! EVER!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great harmonies and renditions, January 4, 2012
This review is from: Christmas Album (Audio CD)
I'm a longtime fan of Frankie Valli, with and without the Four Seasons. This album was recorded with them back in the 60s. It still sounds good today. The A side or first half of the CD has medleys that are terrific! The rest of the songs stand out on their own merit. Frankie's falsetto stands out on Sants Claus is Coming To Town and I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus. These songs are usually heard on the radio at Christmas time. Other songs featured include What Child is This, Carol of the Bells, The Christmas Song, Jungle Bells (a humorous take on Jingle Bells) and an original song, Christmas Tears. White Christmas ends the CD in a nice traditional way. You can probably get the CD for a discount price. It's worth buying.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Christmas present from The Four Seasons!, November 15, 2011

This was the first Christmas album I ever bought and I still have it. Being a HUGE Four Seasons fan it was a must buy. "Jungle Bells", what a GREAT concept and my wife's favorite. "Christmas Tears", a sad song but sung by Frankie as only he could do it as one of the GREATEST lead singers in musical history. All the songs will have you singing as you trim the tree or open the presents. This is a classic Christmas album that you will want to play year after year. The Four Seasons will ALWAYS be one of the greatest gifts to American music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love It, January 1, 2011
This review is from: Christmas Album (Audio CD)
It brings back memories of Christmas in my home as a young teen growing up in N.J..
We had the LP of course with the first cover, not the updated red one that is available now. I still have the LPs but recently purchased the CD version. My wife hates this album, (what does she know, she is from Ohio) which make me love it even more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Santa Claus is Coming To Town, December 24, 2010

"Santa Claus is Coming Too Town" by the 4 Seasons is one of the greatest Christmas songs of all time! The rest of the album is so-so. I heard "Santa Claus is Coming Too Town" on the '60s DirecTV music channel the other day, and it knocked my socks off. Of course, I've been a big fan of the 4 Seasons since 1962. Frankie Valli still sings in concert at age 72 with the new "4 Seasons".

5.0 out of 5 stars a Christmas tradition for me since the late 60's...., November 13, 2010
This review is from: Christmas Album (Vinyl)
I have been listening to this album every single xmas since I was 5 or so years old, and I'm 47 now. I have it as a cd now and both of my kids ages 9 and 13 have listened to it every year as well.....and they love it too. It is the only Xmas album that has carried through all these years and has remained a timeless treasure, truly. I LOVE all the songs, and the funny ones like Jungle Bells and I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus are especially pleasing to kids. Can't say enough good things about this one....Christmas just would not be the same without it!
