5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best Christmas CD's on the planet!!!
A wonderful Christmas CD this is. 18 of the 20 songs from their 1976 vinyl album. The USA CD version which came out in 1991 only had 12 of the 20 songs. This import 2001, is missing 2 songs, but if you have the US version of the CD then you will have "The Christmas Waltz" song, which is not on this import CD. Now we need one more song "A Very Merry...

3.0 out of 5 stars Anyway...it is not so bad
I expected exactly a record from the T.V. Program, (live, incl. applauses from the public,) but it is a normal cd done in a studio.

Now we need one more song "A Very Merry Christmas". I suppose in 2011 we may get a CD with all 20 songs. But, enjoy this CD it is great. It has the only 3 songs that the Osmonds (A, W, M) wrote on the vinyl album. The 3 songs are "Sleigh Ride" an upbeat song (my favorite), "An Old Fashioned Christmas" sung by Donny-I know Donny's voice, even though the CD says the Osmonds sing it, and "It Never Snows In L.A." one of little Jimmy's best. The CD doesn't give credit to the writers of the songs, but if you have the old vinyl album you will see which songs the Osmonds wrote. You will not be disappointed. You will treasure it for the memories it brings back. GO, GO, GO, GO, OSMONDS!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars So beautiful I cried, December 17, 2003

I serendipitously stumbled across this British import version of the CD with the Caroling Medley, which is missing from the US version. This was one of my favorite Christmas albums when I was younger.

When I put it in my CD player, of course I had to start with the Caroling Medley, with its distinctive acapella harmonies. It was so beautiful, exactly as I remembered, that I cried. How moving for me to have this part of my happy Christmas memories made fresh, and how wonderful that I can now share it with my daughter and my own family.

It's beautiful.

Oh, and for the other stuff: sound is clear and sharp. Graphics are mostly nonexistent, text is small and hard to read, but it's the sound that matters, and that's Osmond-perfect as always.

Now if they'll only release a version with ALL of the songs....

5.0 out of 5 stars A Holiday Classic almost complete, November 10, 2004

With the exception of only two songs missing, the Osmond Christmas Album has finally been done the right way. I just received the CD in the mail today, and it was great to relive some of my favorite childhood holiday memories. The artwork on the CD cover, Tray Card and inside cover match the original artwork of the original Christmas Album. The 1991 US release did not do this classic justice. One other note that is worth mentioning, I was happy to hear the ORIGINAL VERISON of Kay Thompson's Jingle Bells without Marie singing as released in 1991. The oringinal was only the Osmond Brothers singing, and is the version on this release. I highly recommend paying the extra for this version over the 1991 US release!

I was so happy to see this Christmas album on sale in cd format. I had the vinyl format years ago.

This is one of the greatest Christmas album by the best family singing group - The Osmonds!!!

The harmonies are superb and the songs - inspiring! This is one Christmas cd that is a must! So are Clay Aiken and Donny Osmond's Christmas cds!

5.0 out of 5 stars Something for everyone, October 25, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Christmas Album (Audio CD)
This is one of the best Christmas Albums ever made! The Osmond Familys' harmonies are so smooth!
The Con: I guess I would have to say that Marie Osmonds' "Let it Snow" is so-so and there have been changes made to this CD. In the original album, Marie didn't sing with the Brothers on "Kay Thompson's Jingle Bells". It was Donny who sang the solo parts. Marie does not sing as well as Donny, and it was a disappointment to hear her sing Donny's part of the CD. I am sure Marie pushed for that, but someone should have left well enough alone. Funny enough, they left "Silver Bells" as is, with Marie singing the song when she was 19, rather than the updated Marie voice (in her 30's)used for updating the "Kay Thompson's Jingle Bells" song. Jimmy's song "I wonder when He comes again" was removed for the CD, but they left "It never snows in L.A." and "If Santa were my Daddy" in. Silent Night is just so precious, and my favorite is the Christmas Waltz song--just touching and superb! Overall I believe this is the greatest Family Holiday CD, and it really does capture the spirit of Christmas. Gift someone with this CD, and they will thank you and think of you for years! Or, just buy it for yourself, and you won't be dissapointed. Not unless you're into rap... ..

4.0 out of 5 stars Osmonds Christmas Album, January 15, 2007
This review is from: Christmas Album (Audio CD)
I had this album for many years when I was younger. I had looked for along
time to try and find it on CD with no luck. I finally found it on Amazon. This is my favorite christmas album, I even have my teenage daughter hooked on it now. The caroling medely is awesome and My daugher loves the Pinecones and Hollyberries song. No one should be without this
CD in their Christmas Collection.

I wore out my last Osmonds Christmas CD. Had to have another one. It just isn't Christmas without it. My kids all sing along with the songs as we move through December. If you love Christmas music, this won't disappoint. I love the high quality of the vocals and the cheerful music.
