With a fine combination of traditional and modern Christmas selections, this is the best Christmas album by The Vienna Boys Choir that I've ever heard, and one of the best Christmas albums still available by ANY artist. Included are very pleasant versions of John Lennon's perennial "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)", Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime", and Brenda Lee's "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree". Among the prettiest numbers are "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas", "The Christmas Song", "Suo-Gan", "White Christmas", and "The Little Drummer Boy", but the best is saved for last - the seamless blending of the last three songs spread over the last two tracks of the CD is superlative.

This wonderful collection of Christmas music is especially good! Many pieces are very well known standards, and have been rewritten in ways that keep the music fresh, interesting and new! Every holiday season (and even throughout the year) this CD is played by our family quite a bit! [I may be a little biased, since my 12 year old son from Cincinnati, OH is one of the boys singing in most of the songs!] It is awesome!!

This CD is a holiday season must.The way these boys sings these christmas songs really puts you in that Christmas feeling.My favorite of course is track number 3-John Lennon-Happy Christmas(War is Over).But surely I will be playing this CD every day during the Christmas season.
Also this CD sound quality is excelent.
I fell in love with the Vienna Boys Choir a few years ago and in my opinion -I feel that the Vienna Boys Choir is the best Boys Choir in the world.
But sometimes I wonder If these Boys are a Heavenly Host Praising God.
Buy this CD and you will see what I mean.

Cd arrived in excellent condition and within 3 days. I was very impressed with the quality of the vocals. I was introduce to the name by a lady I work with and decided to use Christmas as the test bed. Great sound and amazing talent I thought she said the Choir has been around since 1800's just keep replacing the members.

This is a wonderful mix of the traditional & modern versions of universally-loved Christmas favourites. Very festive & upbeat, excellent audio quality as per clarity & depth of sound & to top it all, the most beautiful, expressive singing from some of the best choral singers on this planet. It's great value for money & a 'must-have' in your Christmas collection!

This CD is entitled: "The Christmas Album."
This is not just another Christmas CD by the Vienna Boys Choir (aka Die Wiener Sangerknaben or WSK). It opens with Sleigh Ride and they sing it in english. Don't be surprised, for WSK sings in english VERY proficiently. This particular anthology is a good mix of "contemporary" Christmas songs and traditional. Add to this, the most COZY-arrangement on this CD is without doubt, "Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!" This one arrangement is worth the CD. I always want to brew a cuppa tea and have a scone when I hear this WSK rendition. Additionaly, there are a couple of arrangements of carols from Great Britain: "Coventry Carol" and also
"Suo-Gan" (a lullabye Carol of Wales). This second carol was made famous by Steven Spielburg's movie: "Empire of the Sun."
And finally, JUST for the FUN of it: the WSK rendition of "Rudolph, the Red-nosed Reindeer" is marvelous because even though it's sung in its english setting, the Austrian accent of the choir is quite evident. As some girls might say, "It's really quite darling!" But you know what? The Vienna Boys Choir should never lose their Austrian accent. It's part of their inherent persona, or dare I say, "Trademark"? Buy this CD ... and that advice is from a dyed-in-the-wool chorister from 7 different choirs, both University and church varieties.

The voices of the Vienna Boys Choir are as crystal clear as bells. Just the best renderings of our favorite Christmas songs and hymns. I have given several as gifts and no one was disappointed. A joy to listen to and sure to keep you in the Christmas spirit.

When in Vienna we attending a Boy Choir concert.

Did you know the boys from Vienna also sing in English? In this album they do. Drat. I should have looked more closely before buying it.
