I found this C.D. in a search for Christmas music for this year's festivities and bought it on a whim. It was purchased in a group of about 10 classic C.D.s from my younger memories including, Christmas with the Rat Pack (Excellent Also), Andy William's Red Album, Charlie Brown's Christmas etc. Of all the C.D.'s in the group that brought back Christmas seasons long gone, this C.D. was by far the most entertaining and most often played. The arrangements and compositions of the clasics were so fresh and original it made them new again. It's definitely a talented band that can take the melody from South Pacific's Bali High and turn it into a lead in to Blue Christmas. Every song on this CD is a winner. The vocals hint at Elvis/Roy Orbison and the instrumentals are dripping in salt water with snow on the upper peaks of the island. Whether you are a avid surfer, beach boy at heart or just a lover of the old school sound. Buy this... you will not be sorry. I am on my way to search for more from this very original group of musicians. Merry Christmas and Aloha....

I picked this one up a few years ago and it immediately became my favorite Christmas album. Not only is it a hit with my friends when they stop by for coffee and cookies on Christmas eve, my parents (in their 80s) and my neices (5 & 6 yrs old) even request it by name when they come over for brunch on Christmas morning. Great stuff!

"Mele Kalikimaka" is the thing to say on a bright Hawaiian Christmas Day.,

This is a Christmas album by the Blue Hawaiians. The Blue Hawaiians play surf music with a Hawaiian music influence. Six of the tracks are instrumentals and four tracks are songs with vocals. The album is a lot of fun. If you are looking for a Christmas album that's a little "different", you should check it out.

This is one of those albums you just love to re-discover every year. Granted, you have to be open minded to different genres of holiday music to like this to begin with. The opener "Christmas Time is Here" is a gorgeous reverb instrumental of the Charlie Brown special theme song. It never fails to remind me of the two holiday seasons I spent in the Philippines. This is not generic surf music, most of the songs employ a lap steel, to give the album an exotic/ loungy vibe. The sound quality and production are great. There are vocals on a few of the songs, but they are separated by the instrumentals to give the disc a fresh, balanced line-up. It's beautiful, professional, and fun with just a hint of cheese!

I'm dreaming of a surfside Christmas,

This is one hip Christmas CD. Anyone who loves the surfstyle guitar music (think Delfi records) will thank Santa for hanging this 10 (rating) CD in their stocking. This group is spot on with their performances and the arrangements are really hip. So skip the eggnog and pour the pineapple juice over the rocks! Get this CD or wipe out dude.

I loved The Ventures' guitar style when I was a teen in the 60's (and still do), and have a nostalgic appreciation for "surf" music. I have played this continuously this season, and it has really helped lift me out of the winter blues (along with Martin Denny's stuff, which is another story). Some great arrangements! Highly recommended!

I love unusual Christmas music and this fits the bill. It is refreshing from the standards that get played way to much at Christmas time, yet it is very festive. It is not classic Hawaiian music at all, but it still brings the feel of the islands into your livingroom. Like someone said, stick a umbrella in your eggnog and ring in the holidays.

A Fabulous New Christmas,

This album is fun, and perfect for those looking for a different, sunnier, type of Christmas vibe. Every song is wonderful, it makes great background music for Christmas parties. The song 'Jungle Bells' was featured on 'Friends' when the album was first released. All of the members of The Blue Hawaiians are really talented musicians, and the lead singer Fontana's voice is so smooth, you won't even notice the weather outside.
