I was disappointed that only every third snowflake contains a light. My 10 year old liked it though.

It's true that only every 3rd snowflake lights, which is why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. However, there's enough snowflakes that it still looks cute. The snowflakes blink fairly quickly, which makes it look like the snowflakes are chasing each other when they light up. It almost gives an optical illusion that they're all blinking anyway. If this item caught your eye, I'd definitely purchase it. Great for winter holiday events. If you have kids, buy them their own because they'll be asking to borrow yours!

Only eight out of 24 lights are flashing... Looks rather dull, since they are of the same color

I've bought several necklaces for children's christmas party. The idea was fun, but the necklace quality is very poor. After some time (an hour) the lights goes out and it doesn't work any more.
One of the 8 necklaces was not working at all from the beginning, majority was out after an hour and only 1 last till the next day.
Let me summarize: not worth the money!

We wear these whenever we travel home for the winter holidays. Everyone in the airports and on the flights love them! And always a big hit at holiday parties.

The appearance of this product is misleading because although there are 24 clear plastic snowflakes that appear to be wired, only 8 of them light up. The ones that light up have white LED lights. The other 16 snowflakes are wired into the necklace using thread, not wire, but they are made to look as if they are part of the light string.

There is a blue plastic battery box that is attached as part of the necklace, which is big and rather too clunky-looking for a necklace. I guess you would have to wear the box at the back of your neck, which would not be comfortable. It has a little button that you can change the settings with. There are four settings: off, intermittant blinking, blinking in unison, and all 8 lights on continuously.

Considering the quality of the materials (the plastic is rather cheap-looking), I would expect this to sell for only $3 instead of the $6.25 that Amazon has it at.

I bought this at the store & enjoyed it. My friends liked it too. So I went back to the store to buy more & they were out. So I got these on line. They are great & fun.
