I have the Alice and Wonderland book by this author and both my 3yr old and infant really love that book...so, I was excited to see this Christmas Carol book. However, the pictures in this book don't really grab their attention as much. The book has pictures related to the story and each page just names one of the objects and the color of it (ie: "gold chains"). I like it, but would really recommend the Alice one instead because I love that one.

Not enough of a story to be a fun book, my son was not interested in this book. Great idea just not enough put into it.

My 2 year old loves to look at this book. She loves the colors, but she really loves looking for the mouse on each page. Such a great idea!

Jennifer Adams and illustrator Alison Oliver use Dicken's classic, A Christmas Carol, to introduce color to toddlers. There is nothing scary about these ghosts, and Tiny Tim still gets to "Bless us Everyone," in his stylish red scarf!

As a literature lover (and major in college) I quickly ordered this book for my eight-month old son, excited to introduce him early to a classic story. I was a little disappointed in the lack of content. He's used to us reading him Dr. Seuss' 40ish page long rhyming stories like Green Eggs and Ham or Cat in the Hat. When there are only two words per page, it doesn't keep him interested. For example, the first page has "Black Hat," with a picture of a black hat underneath, and then the adjoining page has a picture of Scrooge standing beside his cluttered desk and there's a black hat among the items. ("Bah humbug" is written out to the side of Scrooge.) The next page has "Silver Chains," with a picture on the following page of Marley carrying his chains. In black text on a dark blue background (kind of hard to see) it says, "Old Marley was as dead as a doornail." The next page says "Gold Stars" and then has a picture of a girl in a dress with gold stars all over it and a "Ghost of Christmas Past" sash across her chest. The pages that follow are the same. I guess I was expecting there to be more words per page. Could be that this is a little too advanced for an eight-month old to be learning colors and maybe I should have gone with one of the other primers. "Baby" Lit threw me off, I assumed these books were good for "babies/infants." I'd say this one is more suited for children 18months and up. We'll definitely keep the book and maybe try it again when he's a little older. I've also got the Romeo & Juliet counting primer in my cart to try for him.

Clever, sound way to introduce little ones to images and words from a classic with a likelihood they may very well take root and encourage the older child to read the original.

Very aesthetically pleasing book, but not much of a "story." I think this book is cuter as a decoration than an actual story. I do love the illustrations.

I could never get my son's attention with this book. It was definitely a disappointment. We bought it for Christmas but returned it.
