About the Author

Charles Dickens wrote A Christmas Carol in 1843, shortly after returning from a tour of the United States. The story is well-known as the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge's conversion, on Christmas Eve, from a miserable human being weighed down by avarice and contempt for his fellow humans, to a warm, caring old uncle, who takes to the Spirit of Christmas as if he were born for it, after some persuasion by three spirits.

John Burr and Dan Toohey first recorded A Christmas Carol a few years ago as a gift for clients and friends at the holiday season. Following many favorable comments on the production, Dan further refined the interpretation, re-recorded the voice track, and John enhanced it further with a "radio drama" approach, which included many Foley sound stage effects, as well as a far greater density of music.
