5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of Favorites... and nice arrangements
This book has a fantastic selection of Christian Christmas music! Our hymnal has lots of great songs, but there are so many good ones that they can't include them all. This book puts many popular songs together in one place. Not all the songs are Christian... Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, Toyland, etc., but most are. They're easy for most adults pianists to...

3.0 out of 5 stars Complete List of Songs
I'm glad I took time to check the publisher's Web site, because I discovered that of the 100 titles included in this book, there are over 50 I've never heard of. To save you that step, I've done a copy/paste of the complete song list I found there, so you can see for yourself how many "old friends" and how many "strangers" you'd be getting if you were to order this...

They're easy for most adults pianists to sight-read which is a plus. Guitar chords are included and the layout of the font, etc. is great. I'm a church organist and many times people have thought that of course I would have the music to O Holy Night... or The Twelve Days of Christmas, etc. Now I can have many of the popular Christmas songs on hand. I highly recommend this book!

4.0 out of 5 stars Gather Round, December 8, 2009

This review is from: 100 Christmas Carols (Piano/Vocal/Guitar Songbook) (Paperback)
If you've pictured yourself in a Victorian Christmas setting with people gathered around the piano, this is a nice book for that. The book opens flat so it stays on the stand. It's true that there are some unfamiliar songs, but it could be a good opportunity to learn new and more obscure carols in addition to the well-loved favorites.

3.0 out of 5 stars Easy to sight read-No frills, December 13, 2011

This review is from: 100 Christmas Carols (Piano/Vocal/Guitar Songbook) (Paperback)
I was looking for the "perfect" Christmas songbook just so I could play some nice Christmas music when I was in the mood. I will say up front, that I am probably an intermediate player and am not ready for the advanced music that is often written for piano solos. I looked through so many books, ultimately going with this song book even though you couldn't "look inside." I should have never bought it without seeing it first. The arrangements are quite easy, but I would call them simple- because there is no flow. If you like playing music like from a hymnal, then save yourself some money, and get an old hymnal from your church. Also, another buyer commented on the fact that a lot of these songs you will have never heard of. That too is true. This book would probably be fine if you are just gathering around to sing carols. But I sure wouldn't want to play these arrangements in public, or if you do, you will need a lot of fill in.
