About the Author
Blayne Waldbauer is a well known violinist on the Winnipeg music scene. He is an accomplished fiddler and is in the process of making a CD with a local Winnipeg band who play Canadian and folk music. He has spent many years playing classical music as well as the more contemporary music of today adapting himself to the music that is so popular.

A nice break from Suzuki,

I am an adult and started playing from this book last year when I had about 9 months of Suzuki lessons behind me. Having this book of carols was a great thing!! Because I already knew the carols, it was easier to play them than some of the unknown Suzuki pieces. Starting in October, my teacher and I began practicing some of the carols in this book. By Christmas, I was playing 6 or 7 songs. We both really enjoyed it as we played harmony on many of the carols. There is enough of a challenge to the music to keep me working for several Christmas seasons to come!! I played my first double stops from this book!!

This book has a beautifully designed glossy cover. The music in it is well written and edited. I found it particularly useful for adult students and younger violinists as well. The book is durable and printed on heavy weight paper. The selections are appropriate for the Holiday season with very interesting harmonies never before seen in my experience. I can recommend this book to anyone interested in adding it to a library of musical keepsakes.
