"Somebody tattled on me" ... is a recurring lament in Kally Mayer's "Gross Gus's Rotten Christmas!" - a rhyming story of Gus's misbehavior throughout the year and its ultimate consequences. Humor and humorous misdeeds occur throughout the pages of this book. The misbehaviors are those that children find extremely funny - reading this aloud to my grandson produced gales of laughter. The rhymes were well done and flowed easily for reading aloud; this was a major plus.

Mindy Liang's colorful, cartoon-like illustrations were a perfect complement to the text of "Gross Gus's Rotten Christmas!". Each picture captured the essence of the text it accompanied.

If you are seeking a fun, funny book that ultimately teaches the lesson that misbehaving has consequences, you should consider "Gross Gus's Rotten Christmas!". It makes its point without criticism and with humor.

As a substitute teacher, I keep a lot of books on my Kindle. I read this to all my primary classes this year and they all loved it and wanted to hear it again.

I'm a huge fan of Kally Mayer books like many of the reviewers here, too. Be sure to check out her first Gross Gus book. Gus is a very likeable little boy who gets into some trouble now and then, but shares the lessons he learns by the end of the book. The illustrations in these books are easy to look at beautifully drawn.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cute Christmas Story for beginner December 24, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I started out reading to my six year old and she picked up fast. There is a good use of sight words recommended for her age group. I borrowed this book for free through prime but would consider buying for the price if my daughter wants to read it again.

Gus and his sister get nothing for Christmas. If that message is OK with you, you will like the book. If you think Santa would bring ANYTHING, you won't
